About this listen

Raine Harper is in love with Wade Gates. But Wade likes women who are model thin, and Raine is model thin, plus a whole lot of pounds. Desperate to make him love her, she trains just a little too hard and passes out in the arms of superstar movie star Dirk Adams.

Dirk thinks Raine's junk in the trunk is perfect and proposes to make Wade jealous by becoming her pretend boyfriend. Pretend soon seems very real. Is Dirk a great actor, or is something really developing between Raine and the movie star?

Five Wishes...A happy ending is only a coin toss away.

Very funny listen

I loved this short story. It was both funny and suspenseful. I have read other books by the author, so I knew the writing style. Angie Hickman is a new performer to me. I thought she added a lot to the story with her expressions and the way she said things, not necessarily what she said. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

So funny

Would you consider the audio edition of Man Candy to be better than the print version?

Yes. I read this book before I listened but I kind of forgot about it. Listening reminded me of how funny it was. I can see myself listening to this again.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Raine's Dad and brothers wanted to wrestle Dirk.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laughing. So many parts made me laugh.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book. It was short but so funny and cute. At the end you get a glimpse of the next book in the series which I also read but I think I might listen to that one too. If you want something short, sweet and funny, then this is for you.

Need A LOL time? This is it

I got this book via audiobook boom. Although this is a romance it is mostly comedy. The H/h get into and out of some crazy situations. The voice of the h grated on my nerves but the story was good. To be in love with someone from kindergarten and then to actually find your forever love while trying to impress the man you thought you should love made for some very funny moments. I listened to the book in one sitting while I completed crocheting a hat. It will make you laugh out loud at times.

Fun Romantic Comedy

Any additional comments?

Raine is on a mission and is "in training". Wade, the man she has been in love with for years, is back in town. Wade likes his women skinny and Raine is more full-figured, so she is determined to lose weight to get him to notice her. When she passes out while running, she is rescued by a man that she recognizes as Dirk Adams, the mega movie star. He concocts a plan to make Wade jealous by posing as her boyfriend and the fun begins.

Man Candy is Book 2 in the Five Wishes series and is a standalone. This was such a fun listen and I found myself laughing more than once. The bear scene was hilarious! I also liked that there was an important message in the story. If a man doesn't love you the way you are, he isn't worth your time. Never change to please someone else because there will always be someone who already thinks you're perfect. The narrator did a great job with pacing and character voices. I would recommend Man Candy.

well worth a credit

I was gifted this audio ARC for a honest and unbiased review from the author/narrator.
Elise Sax did a wonderful job of telling this story. She makes a great point of saying if a man doesn't love you the way you are, he isn't worth your time. Never change to please someone else because there will always be someone who already thinks you're perfect. There were times I laughed out loud at this book.
Angie Hickman was brilliant with her telling of this story.
I highly recommend this audio book to anyone who loves a good book.

Man Candy: Too Sweet!

I loved this short 2-hour book. This is my first by Elise Sax and I enjoyed every minute of it! What luck Raine has when she's being ridiculous in her "training" and her day is saved by gorgeous movie star Dirk Adams. Whilst they have an instant spark, Raine has it in her head since childhood that she is meant to be with some loddy-doddy named Wade. Fun ensues when Dirk suggests he pose as Raine's boyfriend to stir up some jealousy. This was an adorable romantic comedy with a HEA and I immediately scooped up the next opportunity to listen to another Elise Sax book in the series.

Short , sweet and crazy

What made the experience of listening to Man Candy the most enjoyable?

Angie really made it worth reading, she really makes everything come alive

What was one of the most memorable moments of Man Candy?

So many but the Monroe walk, and meeting her family, as well as the fight at the party were three really funny moments

What does Angie Hickman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings all the quirky personalities to life, some things you can really only find funny when you hear the tone . She really adds a twist and takes it to a whole new level

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found this book really funny

Any additional comments?

Short and fluffy, I normally like long books with deep plots, but sometimes it's nice to just read something sugary and fun. This story does touch on a few deep subjects like self-esteem, bodytype etc.

Its full of funny moments, cheesy "scenes" and "one liners", and so many more things that really bring a quirky personality to the whole story.

Its worth a read if only for the Marilyn Monroe walk.

Loved the Story and the Humor

I received this audio book free for an honest review. I loved this book. I'm so disappointed that there are no future books in the series in Audible. I can't find out if Elise Sax is going to have her other books narrated. I love the humor that Elise puts in her books. You will REALLY enjoy this short story. The narrator did a good job as well.
