Publisher's summary

Annie Mayall was a young bride, brought to Montana in 1940 by her new husband to start their new life together...as soon as he struck it rich in the promised silver mines. For three lonely years, Annie was forced to survive by herself in the wilds of the mountains. Until one stormy night brought a severely wounded stranger to her tiny one-room cabin. A stranger both mystical and fascinating. A stranger who not only brought her happiness, but a kind of love she never knew existed.

A stranger who was not of this Earth.

Cute story

Much better than I thought it would be. Sweet story. I look forward to others by Linda Mooney. They could of chosen a better narrator. She was ok but I've heard better.

Seriously underated

I'm not sure how long this book has been available, but I did come across it through Audible Escapes. The reviews for it were underwhelming at best, but I thought I would give it a try. I was not familiar with the author nor the narrator, but I found them both to have done a fair job.
The story, while following a predictable trope, has it's own unique spin on things that is quite interesting and intriguing, it is really worth listening to.
The narrator who sounds quite young and girlish does an admirable job with the male voices, certainly I have heard a lot worse.
I think all in all this book has been given a poor reception that has been unjustified and should be given a chance. You never know it may be your next great listen.

Needs serious work

Narrator repeats multiple times. Then it cut off mid chapter and jumped to the next chapter..was very irritating 😠.

Narration wasn’t the best

The books plot was ok. I couldn’t finish the book because of the narration. The narrator made this smacking sounds between sentences that was very irritating. The narrator emotions were lacking and the overall experience was far from enjoyable.

Not worth it.

I love supernatural books but this one was terrible and although it was free I wish I would have read moreof the reviews. The narrator wasn't horrific but it was still hard to listen to her, especially when she did the main guy's voice. Ok, so pretty much it was boring for about 3/4 of the book and there was no chemistry what's so ever, between them and the girl was boring to no end as well. Rarely do I give a 1 star rating but this one deserves it, in my opinion. The other thing (SPOILER) was there was a rape scene and I absolutely HATE when authors put that into writing!! It was her human "husband " but now divorced and I was so caught off guard because I thought for sure what's his name ( main guy) would come back in time to stop it but noooooo.....he rapes her while she was pregnant! And she's not even emotionally upset about the rape. It's like it didn't even happen to her. Ugh, I'm so upset about it and had anyone would have given a spoiler review I would never had wasted my time! Anyway, I digress. The story drags on and on and on.
