Loved a lot of the story but, just wasn't what I was looking for. Narrator did an excellent job.

Not what I expected

The series is getting better. The male characters are do stubborn and so different in personalities. Love the narrator. Now to see if the sister in law moves to Romania.
Can’t wait for the next book.

After the 1st book I grew to love the characters... now 2nd book and I'm 10 chapters in ... And OMG! Amara makes me cringe she's a spoiled self righteous little Brat! and I'm having a hard time investing here, She's so whiny and indignant... But I'm gonna try for "the sake of the pack" to stick it out!

I'm 10 Chapters in

I really enjoyed this book. The author was creative and this story has wolves, mates (both good and bad), protectors, old practices, a haunted forest, demons and sex.

It glossed over things like the haunted forest, gave details almost after the action was necessary, and the sex seemed unnecessary at the end.

All the women in her family and her mates families were strong in different ways. I would definitely say 17+ (R). Cliffhanger, but not in a bad way.

I’m Native, so reading a story that is so ignorant of legit Native cultures, especially Inuit/Tlingit area tribes, is sometimes muscle-strainingly cringey. It’s a good story, very interesting, but that Twilight-shifter Native men fetishizing just grosses me out, especially when the author is too lazy to even research enough to know that Alaskan tribes don’t have reservations, nor are there a whole helluva lot of cows. If you’re not Native, you probably won’t give any bit of care, but for Natives, it’s guaranteed to give some truly awful cringe and feelings of irritation and offense, because if an author wants to write about a culture they clearly don’t know anything about, maybe a bit of research beyond a lazy google search might be respectful.

Good story despite Native men fetish and Native cultural ignorance
