Publisher's summary

Every witch knows the rules: Stick to your own kind. Never reveal your powers to outsiders. Take a consort from the witching families or kiss your magic good-bye forever.

For years I've been quiet, obedient Rose Hallowell. I accepted the man my stepmother chose for me. But I never stopped missing my long-ago friends.

Now we're back on my childhood estate to arrange my marriage. The boys I grew up with? They're still in town - and they haven't forgotten me either. And damn if they haven't grown up well.

They've got no magic, no place in my life. But they're charming and sweet and infuriatingly hot, and I can't seem to stay away. The more I try to resist, the more secrets I uncover about my family, my betrothal, and everything I thought was true about the witching world.

I've been lied to. I've been betrayed. So to claim my magic and my happiness, I'll break every rule there is - and then some.

Don't mess with this witch. Every rose has thorns.

Contains mature themes.

Addicting Series

Briar Rose is an amazing FMC and the 4 guys we are introduced too are equally as thrilling. I love the story and the heat in this book. The ending was great with the surprise that showed up. makes me excited for book 2.

To many details left out...

I didn't have an issue with the narrators. I did have an issue that the main characters who are all suppose to have a special bond fell flat. I struggled through this book. I stopped the book and started another then came back to this one in hopes it was just my mood. I just can not get past the lack of connection I felt between ALL of the main characters. The first chapter or two started out decent but beyond that I wouldn't recommend this book.

Sooo Good!

I was looking for a new series past over this sooo many times but after seeing all the good reviews figured I’d see for myself ! So glad I did it sure did not disappoint , the story was interesting and flowed steadily, I didn’t get bored like I do with most the performance was also great. I do think I’m gonna really enjoy this whole series off to book 2!

It’s okay

I mean I know it’s reversed harem but usually this kind of plot, you could see the chemistry between all but… it’s like 2 guys 1 girl and 2 other forgettable

Conflicted. Confused. Ug!

I absolutely love the voice acting skills of Aletha George!! She's amazing, fabulous, even gets the male voices right...

So why then did we have to be subjected to Tristan James? 😓 Constructively, I gotta say I didn't hate his voice itself, he just needs to figure out how to: use voice inflection(!!); use his voice to ACT the part of each character... this was possibly the hardest part of listening to him - he was never able to adjust his voice according to how the narration was telling us the character was feeling... it was sooo weird; and modulate his voice so the dialogue stands apart from the narration.

it was frustrating to hear Ms. George voicing the men so well, then to pop over to Mr. James & have him butcher the same characters. It's rare I would say this, but I would have greatly preferred this listen voiced ONLY by Aletha George.

Also... (and please know I'm about to listen to the second book)... the reading level for this book is like... fifth grade or so? But the subject matter is NOT FOR CHILDREN. So I'm super confused. I thought when purchasing this that I'd enjoyed other Eva Chase books, but now I'm going to have to dig through my archive and see... because this was painful.

I dunno...... the story itself... the idea... has me gripped. So I want to move on to the next book, but now I'm waffling.... because I simultaneously dread actually hearing it. Ugh!

Not the best I’ve read- semi spoilers

I LOVE reverse harem novels, but I definitely feel like there is something missing with this book. The author constantly refers to Rose’s past with the boys, but never gives any real detail. I kept waiting for a flashback that never came. I felt like I was expected to understand a relationship dynamic that was never fully explained.
