The author of the classic best seller Lincoln on Leadership answers the question: How would President Lincoln handle the pressing crises of our modern world?

Abraham Lincoln is recognized as one of history's finest leaders, a great president when the United States was under tremendous strain. But suppose he were alive today. How would Lincoln deal with today's high-pressure issues, from politics to business?

Based on a lifelong study of Lincoln's life, writings, and speeches, best-selling author Donald T. Phillips offers compelling ideas on how Lincoln would employ his exemplary leadership and executive style. How would Lincoln handle today's frayed race relations, terrorism at home and abroad, gun control, and the influence of special interest groups on Congress? What would have been Lincoln's reaction to the invasion of Iraq? How would he have handled the Great Recession? What would be his stance on science and climate change? How did Lincoln feel about government entitlement programs? Would he have them at all? How would he feel about the growing gap between the haves and the have-nots, a worker's right to strike, the minimum wage, and labor unions? Would Lincoln have a mobile phone and embrace the whirl of social media? Phillips hews very closely to Lincoln's extensive writings and records to offer a fascinating look at how we might solve some of our most challenging problems, Lincoln style.

i only didnt like the summary at end of right/left being bad/good. i think the propper path is always a mix of compassion and personal accountability. nothing fully right or fully left will survive as long as humans are involved. it requires balance and i think Lincoln would have agreed.

overall a good book

somewhat interesting. not what I thought it was. less about leadership and more about speculating Lincoln's views on today's politicized issues.

As a new leader in a manufacturing company, I have been researching ways to develop a team that is disconnected. As I was researching for books, I found “Lincoln on Leadership for Today”.

This book is very informative with its history and

I suspect earlier iterations of this book are much better. In its current form this book is a vehicle to support a liberal agenda with Lincoln’s action. I’m a moderate and disappointed with this book which read more like a subjective opinion editorial.

Incredible Leader, Liberal Author

I have read (listened) to LOL several times, especially whenI faced particularly difficult leadership issues as a police chief. I enjoyed this book as it shed more light on Lincoln not previously noted in LOL. I have to admit that I bristled at a few of the authors conclusions on what Lincoln would do in present times. It felt, attimes, the author let his own biases through. Sa Lincoln said that's human nature,as I have my own. I simply forwarded to the next chapter. I would give LOL and A+ and this book a B+. Well worth the listen but I took exception to a few conclusions. Of course, I could be wrong.

Excellent with caveats

Loved every word. Ideal for long walks. Regardless of your level of knowledge re. the Civil War, abolishion of slavery or Lincoln himself, his book pulls you right in and motivates you to be a better person. Long Live Abraham Lincoln, USA and cudos to the fantastic author, narrator. I'm buying the hardcover and will add it to my managent books.

One of the most captive bios I've "read" in ages.

Very repetitive. Great insight on the president. The delivery is fine. Felt a little oversold on extra content.

Can't go wrong with a book on Lincoln, although there are a lot of personal opinions on what Lincoln might or might not do.

Good

....is now a grand part of rewriting history. This book was amusing/entertaining/and gave concrete evidence on how a non thinking generation is being mentally influenced by mixing fiction and nonfiction.
