Publisher's summary

This generation of students who have grown up in the 21st century are the most social, the most empowered, and also the most anxious youth population in human history. If you are struggling to connect with and lead them, you are not alone.

The latest research presented in this audiobook, however, illuminates a surprising reality: The success of the next generation doesn’t depend entirely on them. Their best chance of success starts when adults choose to believe in them, challenge them, and walk with them through the nine greatest challenges today’s youth will face.

For their sake, and for the future success of our world, it’s time we started seeing generation Z - unfiltered.

Needy for parents, teachers, and mentors

We need this book in our day. The author's size up the generation well, and give some alarming but also hope for helping deal with the effects of social media and smart phones. You might find yourself wanting to excuse your behavior or justify your mindset to date, but the data is hard to argue with. Maybe we need to quit blaming it on the kids and blame the parents for wrong ideology.

BAFFLED AND FEELING INEFFECTIVE with the youth of today? A must read

I have four daughters between the ages of 13 and 20. I consider myself a good parent and I am trying to raise amazing young women, but the truth of the matter is I have trouble understanding their world and experiences.
This book has been an eye-opening, game-changer for me. If you interact with and more importantly parent, teach, coach or lead youth in generation Z, this book will change the way you see them and empower you to make changes that will make you more effective and assist them in becoming the adults we all hope for them to be.
Do not pass this up! Get a paper copy, too. Great reference material and statistics you will want at your fingertips!

insightful and thought provoking

this text was well written, and thought provoking. It provided multiple examples that made concepts tangible and approachable. this is something that current faculty at University levels should consider reading together to begin addressing the needs of our diverse learners in a time period where we are not as knowledgeable of the experiences and generalizational differences that they experience.

Best ever!

Omg this is the best book! I’m in adult education and these findings are things I encounter everyday. I have a new found appreciation for gen Z, and for my own trade. I also really enjoyed the voice of the narrator which let’s be honest, matter a lot.
I will reread down the road.

Mind blown... heart inspired!!!

As I read this book, I started to implement these ideas with my 16 year old son (Gen Z/ gamer/ youTuber). He was so empowered by me motivating him with the heart that Tim Elmore showed me. He lit up like a spotlight in the night. He believed the future was his for the taking. This book was so dang good, I bought more copies to gift to people. Can’t wait to give the best gift.... hope for the future!!

Excellent! Compressive and enlightening

This book shared the challenges of Gen Z with the most compassionate but empowering recommendations to develop you leaders.

It is a model of mentoring that I have intuitively built into my parenting for years. I believe that many struggling parents would benefit from this perspective.

I am a Z and I agree

The author precisely identify issues that prevent Gen Z’s from becoming what their potential is, but instead of shaming them, he approaches with ways educators can use to help then develop. Excellent book for any adult, educator and specially parent.
