Publisher's summary

A new chapter in the Limitless Lands saga begins.

Vaguely remembering the accident that might have killed him, retired Navy captain Craig Larson is offered a chance at a new life. Choosing the body of a half-man, half-serpent creature called a naga, Larson must fight to secure a place for himself in this new world. Soon, he finds himself in a fight against pirates, thieves, and terrors of the deep, all of which seek to end his new life before it truly begins.

But Larson is not easily deterred. He will call upon a loyal crew and decades of knowledge from his previous life, standing ready with steel and spell to cut down all who oppose him as he seeks to conquer the Limitless Seas.

Fun LitRPG

I received a free copy for an unbiased review.

I didn't know what to expect from this one, but I really liked the angle the author took with how/why the MC in in a LitRPG world.

The character's progression and the action sequences are well done, but the book really shines in some of the more complex relationships between characters. Also in the non-cookie cutter aspects of some of the characters. The ending set up for a sequel/series, and I hope these complexities are explored even further.

The narrator's performance was over-the-top, and it worked quite well for this story. It made for an all-around fun listen.

Great book

Love the new series and can’t wait for the next installment. My only complaint, the c in scimitar is silent. Otherwise we’ll written and good narration.

a nice addition to the Limitless land world

from the sound of things it sounds like it's not actually the brother's fault. he's all about loyalty and he was betrayed I think it was the husband and a sister fault

This was extremely good!

First I love the fact that the MC is a Naga secondly I love that Dean Henegar did not change the formula and try to do something else with this book what he did was take all the good things from Limitless Land and improve upon them and it truly made Limitless Seas phenomenal. While the book does not have a huge cast of memorable characters as of yet besides the MC and Bug Bartholemew they more than makeup for it. Yet again Jack Voraces has brought this book to life with individual unique characters and their own inflection. this book is very much so worth your time and credit/money so do yourself a favor and get it I know I can't wait for the next one.

Pirate and LitRPG - Great Mix

Limitless Seas, by Dean Henegar, is book 1 in the new Limitless Lands series. I admit I haven't read any of the Limitless Lands series, but that didn't really hamper my understanding of what was going on. It's easy enough to pick up and get right into. Short world-setting at the beginning is enough to get the gist.

This book was a lot of fun to listen to. After the first few minutes, and once we're past the character build, we're dropped right into the middle of a pirate adventure. Larson wakes to find himself shackled to an oar in a pirate ship. His captors are none-to-friendly, nor is his fellow rower.

With no real memories of his past life to guide him, Larson sticks to his principles, and the plot quickly unfolds from there. Plenty of action, close hand-to-hand combat and ranged weapons and magic.

The main character not being your typical fantasy race was a nice change of pace. Larson is a half-man, half-serpent creature called a naga. He quickly finds his... I want to say sea legs, but the bottom half is a snake... and inspires courage and loyalty among his fellow prisoners.

Fortunately, the "real world" story doesn't intrude too much. It was easy to get swept up in the action that you forget where he really is. I'd probably enjoy this book even more if it wasn't for those part. That's not to say I hated it, not at all... but coming from a place of no background of the Limitless Lands books, I could have easily done without them.

Jack Voraces delivers a great performance, voicing many different races well. No nitpicks to mention, just very enjoyable to listen to.

I look forward to the next book in the series. I can't wait to see what else the future holds for this pirate adventure.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I have not let this gift affect nor influence my opinions of this audiobook and have left an honest review.

Good listen

This book is somewhat reminiscent of a movie called “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World,” featuring Russell Crowe. If you ever get a chance to watch this movie or have already seen it, you have seen the similar elements that I’m talking about, despite this book having magic in it as well. With that said, I look forward to the next book in the series.

The Dynamic Duo do it again!

Dean Henegar and Jack Voraces do it again! Fantastic new story in a semi-familiar world, with interesting new characters that is truly a different beast from what we have seen so far!

Unique, and yet familiar, this is a great story that I can't wait to listen to book 2 from.
