About this listen

The unprecedented election of Niles Larsson to the office of the president of the United States brings hope of change not only to the office of the president but also to the country and the world - the hope of the implementation of the cornerstone of his campaign - the Open Spaces Treaty.

However, soon after he takes office, it becomes clear that Niles intends to implement OST with or without the approval of Congress. As the battle between the president and Congress escalates, Niles shows that he is willing to use the power of the presidency to defeat those who stand in his way. With each unprecedented use of power, the country spirals closer and closer to the unthinkable - a Second Civil War.

Good Listen

A fictitious president who will do anything to get his way. It was a bit slow in the beginning but soon it held my attention and had me shaking my head and the things that happened and hoping that something like this cannot happen in real life. Hugo Archer is a new author for me but one I will look forward to another one of his novels, the narrator Roberto Scarlato did a great job portraying each character and drew you to them.

Surprising

Which character – as performed by Roberto Scarlato – was your favorite?

Any additional comments?

This book was provided free of charge in expectation of a review.

The book was very good. The story line flowed well. It illustrates the dangers of allowing any one group too much power. It also showed that many will do almost anything for their own personal power.

The narrator was very good. He was understandable and was able to bring off the different voices of multiple characters well.

This book left me wanting to continue with the next book in the series.

Book 1

This book is about how the White House occupants works in favor of their wants and dreams and not in favor for citizens who voted for them. I hope this will remain a fiction. Narrated by Roberto Scarlato, this is a very interesting book.

Great story line.Terrifying.

Performance was great. Only issue I has was Las Cruces,NM is pronounced Las Crew-sez. Spanish for “the crosses”. Other than that excellent.

A shattered country, an unknown future

Received an audio copy from the narrator to review, this is an honest review. Narrator Roberto Scarlato hands down delivers a top tier, award winning, masterpiece of a performance that turns Liberty Fallen into this hauntingly realistic thrill ride as the United States dissolves into a post democracy country with the election of Niles Larsson... the extraordinary outcome of having an immigrant leading the U.S.; that's struggle to handle what types of people should call this country home. And what President Larsson wants to accomplish is nothing short of life changing with his Open Spaces Treaty... taking back as much land as possible and return at to its natural state. While some in Congress are for such drastic change as OST would require, others are not about to give their land or anything else and become hell bent on preventing this piece of legislation from becoming their future. But no one could expect the their freely elected President would force it upon innocent lives... screwing whatever anybody's thinks. The United States becomes a fiery battle ground as it all comes crashing down; people picking sides and deciding whose a patriot and whose a traitor that deserves death. Nothing is off limits and those that can take advantage of the explosive chaos feel the absolutely freedom that they can and achieve their own dangerous agenda no one will notice it until it's too late.

Highly recommended.

Couldn't put it down!

Liberty Fallen is a work of fiction, to be sure, but...could it happen? Could everything turn upside down because people are so easily duped? Unfortunately, I would say, yes. Liberty Fallen tells the story of how America is so short sighted as to allow a president to circumvent the Senate, Congress and, even worse, the Constitution to satisfy his own needs.
This is a good read and will make one think, for sure.
I actually listened to the audio version of this book (didn't take me long to finish because it is THAT good!) Roberto Scarlato is a talented narrator. His narration keeps the attention and his character voices are good, both male and female. I felt the anger via his voice as well as the other emotions. I enjoy his work overall.

To many conspiracies

I got this book has a free review copy for the audio edition of a book that came out several years ago. In the story it gives no set timeframe for placement for when the story starts and then events are hyper compressed from when the psycho becomes president and til the war all within a timeframe of four months.

I didn’t like if he was manipulator, but when he gets to power he keeps being rushing in getting his goals an expressing his e
