Publisher's summary

He who seeks destruction, wields evil....

As the search for the legendary Dragonwand continues, Markus and his trio of travelers find themselves in unfamiliar territory traversing the countryside for clues to its whereabouts, while Hallond persists with his plans to rule the Kingdom. But the closer they get to obtaining the Dragonwand, the more evil lurks around every corner, and even those creatures that seem the most unassuming are a threat to the group. Captain Morris persists in his effort to foil their plans of freeing Gallenor from imminent destruction, aligning himself with the Shlan.

As a lighthearted romance between Markus and Crystal blossoms and Markus begins to understand his destiny, they soon learn that love may just be even more powerful than any magic ever foretold. But will their collective efforts be enough to vanquish the wicked for good?

Legacy of Dragonwand: Book 2

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I think this series is written well for the audience it seeks to be read by. What I mean is that today there are a lot of young people who are put off by larger books and deep, granular descriptions. This book doesn't have those things, and for some that might be a turnoff, but you know when you see the book length that you're not about to read a Brandon Sanderson or Tolkien book. This is a good series for young adults who don't have time or attention spans to handle longer books and I think it meets them where they are.

YA fantasy

I listened to the first one in this series and liked it. I have to admit that I prefered the first book in the series more then I did this one but it was still good. This is not a standalone and you will need to listen/read to the book 1 to understand what is going on.

Continuing a Journey

The focus is on a young man leaving home to learn more about his magic. He finds a quest, some romance, and a hidden heritage. Can be enjoyed by both adult and young adults.
This is not a standalone, nor is it over.
The narrator has done a good job with the characters. His voice is clear and expressive.
Start with the first book and you will enjoy this series.

Exciting teen fantasy story

Good storyline. Progressed smoothly. Wish I had heard the 1st one, it would have made following storyline easier to follow, as it appears to have left the previous book in a “cliffhanger”, as the second book ends. Well written!
I received this audio book for free, and I freely give my opinion and recommendations.

Still solid but really short

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, as I said with the first book, this was nothing new in the fantasy genre. The narration continues to be pretty good. Though I felt that this book, and the first book should have been combined into one. There was more world building done, which helped satisfy my needs, but it still just didn't feel...complete. I'm sure once the third book is released, I will be satisfied, but that is just me. As you can probably tell, I"m definitely willing to finish out the story.

Choppy

While the narrator shows promise, the sudden change of voice used when a character says a spell is jarring and led to my lower rating. The story isn't bad, though it lacks description and the way it is narrated leaves it feeling stilted. The characters and story is intriguing, but I just couldn't get into this story.
