About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry comes a small town, neighbors to lovers romance.

Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done.

But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life. Even if it requires working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn and living in an apartment above a garage.

It’s there, on the fifth worst day of her life, that she meets the handsomest man she’s ever laid eyes on. Knox Eden is a beautiful, sinful dream, a chef and her temporary landlord. With his sharp, stubbled jaw and tattooed arms, he’s raw and rugged and everything she’s never had - and never will. Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.

Worth the credit!

I would highly recommend this book. There’s so much more going on than at first glance and the more I got into the story the more I loved the characters and the town.

Emotional and so Beautiful

Leaving NYC for a small Montana town is a big change for Memphis Ward. When you bring an eight week old baby with you on this journey it calls for disaster. Memphis is running away from her big city dreams to make a new start for her and her son. When she gets to rent an apartment from the grumpy Knox Eden, personalities clash. When Knox sees her struggling all he wants to do is make her burdens disappear. With they both start catching feelings for one another, Memphis knows she needs to tell him the real reason she dropped everything for this Montana town.

This is Devney Perry at her best. I adored Memphis and Knox so much. The way he wanted to take care of her and her son was so special. The things Knox said to Memphis had my heart swelling with so much emotion. This story was written beautifully and I’m so glad I finally read it!

Narration was incredible. Both narrators did amazing at bringing all the characters to life!!

Great addition

I absolutely loved this book! Knox was awesome and although Memphis and her secrets were frustrating I loved her as well. Devney Perry gave a great story and I can’t wait to see what happens next with Talia and Foster.

Knox and Memphis

This was so good! After I finished Indigo Ridge I got this book immediately and started listening. I just loved Knox and Memphis story!
Memphis is a single mom that is trying to escape her past and she ends up in Quincy working at the Eloise Inn. The only problem is she has no place to stay and that is how she ends up living in Knox’s loft. At first Knox stays away from her but he can’t deny his attraction to Memphis long. Knox has an emotional past that is the reason why he tried to keep his walls up so much around Memphis and her son. I loved their journey and being able to experience them becoming a family. Knox was so adorable with Drake.
There was also a suspenseful part that kept me on my toes!
The narrators did a fantastic job and I loved them for the voices of Memphis and Knox.
Also I’m obsessed with the epilogue and extended epilogue!

Also the cliffhanger ending that sets us up for Talia’s story, I can’t wait!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Dual POV

- Single mom
- Small town romance
- Found family
- Grumpy x sunshine

Adorable single mom + grumpy caretaker chef!

4.5 ⭐️ 2.5 🌶️

📖 This book had such a different vibe from Indigo Ridge but was just as incredible. Single mom Memphis moves to Quincy to start a new life with her infant son. She had a job at the small town hotel and her new boss, Eloise, hooks her up with housing — it just so happens to be at Eloise’s brother’s house. Knox Eden is a grump… he doesn’t want a single mother and her child living with him, or so he thinks. He has a restaurant to run and lives away from people for a reason. But it doesn’t take him long to fall hard and fast for Memphis and her little guy. Knox is a care taker at heart and he wants to give Memphis everything she’s never had — all those special moments that many of us take for granted. There are some seriously swoony moments!! Memphis may have been born with a silver spoon, but that doesn’t mean she had a happy life. She’s learning what happiness means with Knox and his family. Seeing both of them grow together was so sweet!!

🎧 Jason Clarke is my absolute fav male narrator and he crushed it as Know! Maxine Mitchell was wonderful as Memphis. They made this a wonderful listening experience — I was completely involved in the story the entire time. Their voices are just so enjoyable to listen to! Jason could read the phone book to me and I’d be happy.
