woman in space

I recieved a free code for this story.
I wasn't too sure that i would enyoy this story, but I did. The bumbling characters were entertaining, and I particularly enjoyed the ending - its something I think a lot of people will be able to relate too.

Maybe we need a new force. We'll call it the Space

I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun and funny listen. It is hilarious the high jinks a conman and an idiot savant can get in to! I would recommend if you like things like futurama!

Extremely Funny and Entertaining

I am always interested when an author narrates his own works and as such I was curious to find out how Chad Robert Morgan handles this story about two unlikely friends, both of them losers in their own way, having to find lost or nonexistent courage in order to fight an Alien invading force.

This is an extremely funny story, but at the same time it's very entertaining and it realizes its goal to keep the listener interested for the over 10 hours duration.

Filled with hilarious events and driven by two of the most improbable characters in a book about Space, Intergalactic Space Force hits all the marks when it comes to insanely well done action, strange life forms and humor.

Chad Robert Morgan does a great job in bringing all his characters to life, he narrates with passion and he has even added some audio filters for immersion's sake. The audiobook production is good overall, but at some points you can hear some hissing when the narrator doesn't speak, but luckily it's nothing that can break your listening experience.

Reminiscent for me of The Police Academy and The Orville in terms of the jokes, Intergalactic Space Force written and narrated by Chad Robert Morgan proved out to be a nice distraction for all the Thrillers and Fantasy books that I usually listen to and mostly, for the daily stress that we are all living through in these troubled times...

It really is more Bigly!

So I'll admit I had some real doubts at the start of this book. From the description, I was already convinced this book was going to be completely full of politically motivated slander with a completely ridiculous and cheesy plot. And it was. And I loved it.

Hopefully, if you are looking for a serious sci-fi novel full of realistic technology and introspective characters, you've already moved on because this book is not for you. However, if you are a fan of hilarious romps across the galaxy full of implausible hijinx and ridiculous, but entertaining plots, this may be a good fit. I've come to appreciate these more light-hearted stories and it's great to relax with a book that doesn't take itself so seriously every once in a while. But beyond the cheese and clichés, the book is also well written -- the pacing is good, the characters are interesting and developed, and the plot, though a bit outlandish, is amusing and entertaining.

And yes, the book definitely has some political undertones woven into its plot and setting. But I think it actually puts forth a really great message about addressing institutionalized inequalities and prejudices and these ideas seem to be more prevalent than poking fun at any particular person (you know who I mean). Though these elements drive the plot, I do not think they will ruin anyone's enjoyment of the book itself. Well, unless you are a diehard misogynist or fanatical supporter of the creator of the space force. Even then, give it a chance!

The narration was another red flag for me when I first saw this book. Once I saw that an indie author narrated his own book, I prepared myself for a low-budget recording disaster. However, much like the book itself, I was pleasantly surprised. The author does an amazing job with the narration and though there is a bit of subtle but annoying background noise occasionally, I quickly found myself liking the narrator's style, tone, and voice characterization. I mean, it is his book and he knows exactly what he thinks every character should sound like, I just didn't expect Morgan to have such a great talent for it.

Special thanks to Audiobook BOOM and Chad Robert Morgan, who provided this book free at my request.

Intergalactic Space Force

Quentin Tipper meets Alvin Phish as they are waiting for their ships to their first duty station. On the way they get an inkling of trouble where they're heading. Quentin is sort of embarrassed by Alvin since he is very simple and acts like a child but is a genius with computers. They finally arrive or I should say their new ship arrives at their transport. Alvin causes a tad of an issue with the head chief and Quentin goes to his defense. They both wind up in the lowest of the lowest of jobs and in the ship. From this point on a very weird multi creature friendship develops. Quentin and Alvin get new nicknames which stick and causes a minor notoriety in the ship. Then things start to change when Quentin meets a higher ranking enlisted female. In this romantic entanglement and weird three way friendship a new threat arrives in the form of the Femen.
Prepare for a rollicking time as you travel the space ways with these characters!!
Chad Robert Morgan narrates his own story and it is fantabulously hilarious as you hear the love he has for his story and his characters. He brings them to life as only an author can!!
This audio and story is above fabulously fantastic to sublimely fantastic!! I hope he has more on these characters.

Basically an episode of Futurama

The description of this book is dead on. The story overall isn't bad, but it's a bit marred by leaning into too many different kinds of comedy. There's certain running gags that get played out and just aren't very funny anymore by the end. And literally this reads like the "Death by Snu Snu" episode of Futurama. BUT, I will say the performance was spot on!

politically incorrect, irreverent and fun

An odd light-hearted journey that quickly catches you in it's wake. How can such unlikely characters seem so blatantly human and so much adulterated wrongness be so hard to put down? A fun read, no matter what your position on interspace militarization, robot relations, partisan politics, radical feminism or Kenny G. What more would you expect from a slightly warped sci-fi comedy? ... Besides a sequel!

What's not to like.

I loved the story. I loved the snippets of history, both serious and funny. I loved the narration. I loved the robot.
