Publisher's summary

You can improve your self-esteem through the right actions every day.

Improving your self-esteem is a process. It happens when you live your life in a way that naturally provides you with positive self-esteem. This happens through habits. Your habits are the key to improving your self-esteem. You can change your habits and with them change your self-esteem.

This book starts with a discussion on the importance of self-esteem and why improving your self-esteem should be a priority in your life. Self-esteem improves your decision making and your overall wellness and enhances your relationships.

This book will help you appreciate the unique qualities that make you who you are. Self-esteem is largely a shift in perspective - where you recognize that you are special and that you have talents and gifts that only you can contribute to the world.

This book will take you into the action steps needed to improve your self-esteem, from setting realistic expectations for your personal growth to strategies for thinking positively that impact your day-to-day life.

Each chapter ends with an Action to Take Now section, so you know exactly how to implement the information you just learned. In going through this process, you will develop habits that naturally increase your self-esteem.

This book discusses 15 fears and reflects on them. What can we do to minimize their effects on our lives? We all know fear holds us back. The question is...what are we going to do about it?

Why this book?

When you learn to act in ways that naturally make you feel better, a byproduct will be enhanced self-esteem. Through this you will come to improve all aspects of your life. You'll also feel in control of your life, and the effects will permeate into your job, your relationships, your health, and your well-being.

We all live with ourselves every day. You deserve to be best friends with yourself.

Improving Your Self-Esteem

A nice introductory book on improving self-esteem. I found the pace of the narration to be a bit slow and needed to bump up the speed a bit to make it more palatable.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Helpful

Helpful information on managing self esteem. The information is a little dry but still some helpful points. The narrator does a good job with the material available. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Basic Info For Those Needing A Kick-Start

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This book might be useful for someone struggling with extremely low self-esteem, depression, a stilted social life, or simply those who have never been given advice on how to succeed. I personally found the book to be very general and too simple, although it might be good as a first read for those needing to start a new self-esteem mindset.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Much of this information felt like something I have often read in magazine or web articles. I expected a more detailed, clinical, academic approach from an audiobook. It is definitely palatable for the average reader/listener, though and very easy to understand.

Did Harry Roger Williams III do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narrator pronounced everything VERY clearly and carefully with many inflections to bring out a point. I personally found the narration to be far too slow for me. Sometimes it sounded like someone gently scolding a child to improve their behaviour. I had to play it at 1.5x speed to get through the book, which unfortunately also brought up the pitch. If there was a way to increase the speed of the narration while keeping the pitch the same, the overall listening experience might be better for listeners.

Was Improving Your Self-Esteem worth the listening time?

For me, no, but I have been fortunate to hear a lot of this type of advice from my parents and friends over the years. There are many people in the world who have not had someone encouraging them, and suffer from low self-esteem. For them, this might be a good start for them to think differently.

Any additional comments?

Not as deep or as detailed as I would have preferred, but may be useful for someone looking to make a personal change. This audiobook was provided at my request in return for an honest and fair review.

Not worth my time

I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review. I had a really hard time listening to this book. Thankfully it was a short audio book. The narrator Harry Roger Williams III was so bad that I really was distracted from what the book had to say. What I did hear was about as helpful as reading a Cosmo article on self esteem. Not worth my time that was for sure.
