Book I finished but did not understand

I wanted to see even if I can catch a bit of understanding from Kant’s work and the reason I wanted to finish the three books in this collection. I think I did not succeed too well. Compared to Schopenhauer work I did not find the philosophy of Kant easy to grasp. Was he trying to separate empiricism from our philosophy? What does he mean from moral and how we are supposed to know it’s a good moral. What is speculative reasoning. I could not find a good way to distill the knowledge I read. Will read some commentaries on Kant to see if I can make any dent.

Good Intro to Kant; A Struggle to Comprehend

Immanuel Kant is a one of the major philosophers of the modern age (18th century) and it is almost impossible to over state his influence even today … and here we have 30 hours (414 pages) of three of his works at a bargain. The only downside here is we don’t know who the translator was (just that the translation is public domain) and the language used is fairly typically within the academic circles of philosophy (in other words, very big words that are often difficult to parse and/or follow by amateurs such as me) and I freely admit that there is a lot here that I don’t really understand. In that regard, having it read to you is almost as much of a hinderance as it is a benefit as I don’t have much time to dwell on parts that are particularly difficult.

An Exceptional Collection!

Immanuel Kant is by far one of the respected philosophers. His book Critique of Pure Reason has always been on my radar to read, so listening to it being narrated was fantastic. The narrator definitely did an amazing job. The two other books in this collection were also great- Critique of Practical Reason was mind opening for sure.
