Publisher's summary

A lot has changed for Kirk Jensen.

He wasn't the slightly fat, fast-food-slinging new guy anymore. His whole existence changed that night he was attacked by a bear and joined the ranks of Kodiak Island's shifter community. He even managed to land his dream job on the island's police force. But Kirk is so much more than just another werewolf shifter. He's an alpha bear, the most powerful shifter on the island, and wanted by both of the dueling packs as an ally to settle their centuries-long feud.

In his first week as a shifter, he was nearly killed and had to track down those responsible for attacking both packs. Attacks that would have revealed the existence of shifters to the human world. He succeeded, managed to stop a war between the packs, and earned the respect of everyone around him. Not a bad first week for a rookie.

Too bad that within a few hours of being released from the hospital, someone tried to kill him—again. The fragile peace he was able to forge between the packs is already fraying, and in all the chaos, other supernatural players are coming out of the shadows. If that wasn't enough, the pair of werewolf women vying for his attention are getting feisty, and others are circling. It looks like it will take nothing less than an alpha bear to keep the island safe, and Kirk is just the shifter for the job.

Intended for mature listeners.

Really like this series

Main character is relatable for many reasons, seems a regular person thrust into uncommon situations and how he navigates through them is also believable

good second book

good second book. the voices were fine, but perhaps the voice actors need to understand the words and their pronunciation. otherwise, it's a good ab. I would recommend it.

I honestly loving the series.

this scratches an itch I've had for awhile, that being werecreatures/shifter story.
True it has harem aspect as well which could turn some away but over all its fairly fun story.

Great second book

This second book was just as good as the first. The story continued right in from the first and it just got better.

I’m Just a Small Town Shifter 2 is a fantastic book. I love Kirks journey as he leans more into the supernatural world. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Really good

It was a great sequel. However, it suffers from the same two big issues as the first. 1) there is too much useless inner monologue to the point where it’s cringy. 2) for the love of all things shut up about Covid. The whole thing is stupid and especially since the place and time the book was made they stopped with that BS. This book keeps bringing up Covid and it’s just annoying.
Other than that, good sequel and I look forward to the next.
