About this listen

There's only one word to describe the devil's kiss. Violent.

There's only one word to describe a hunter who locks lips with the most revered, most feared, and most despicable demon to have ever existed. Traitor.

A hunter and the Devil. It's not just an unlikely pair. It's an impossible one. Add his two henchmen to the mix and there's only one word that spells. Disaster.

I am Melody Black. Daughter of the New York Guild's leader. Daughter of the best hunter to have ever existed. But daddy dearest is about to lose his title. He's conquered a lot, but the one thing he has never done is come face to face with Lucifer himself. Now, here I am, standing with the King of Demons, sword palmed, stance perfected.

There is only one thing left to do. Defeat him. There is only one feeling meant to be felt. Rage. Instead, desire rips through my body, and even though Lucifer doesn't touch me, I can feel him everywhere.

I am the hunter, but I am also the hunted. And it's not just Lucifer who has his dark eyes fixated on me.

Contains mature themes.

heroine whiny in a I'm too tough way

This heroine is whiny in a brand new way. I despise reverse harem where the girl is constantly woe is me, I have a traffic past and am constantly referring to it. I figured since the girl was a warrior she be wouldn't be whiny, but it almost felt like a woe is me, I'm too much of a badass to exist. it's hard to explain, but it got really annoying.

the guys absolutely had potential with their general character natures, but had real development.

pretty much a good story, a welcome change from the genre's tropes, but not great. so much potential lead to so much disappointment.

Just Ok

The story was pretty interesting, however the way the main character acts and behaves is SUPER annoying! Even the book itself refers to her acting like a 12 yr old girl that didn't get her way. She's constantly repeating herself in thought throughout chapters and even in the same sentence at times. The one thing I can't STAND in a book is when they have to SAY, especially over and over, how badass a certain character is. If you have to say it then you're not conveying it through your words 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ The narration was so-so. I've heard a lot better, but I've heard worse too. I'll probably just read the 2nd book myself since it is an interesting and unique story. If they'd take out the annoying parts of the "heroine", even by half, decrease the repetition throughout the book and increase the depth of the male characters, this very well could be a 5 star book!
