the story itself was good and i will probably buy the paperback to read. the voices were done well but there is zero audio control going from can barely hear to hurting your eardrums with every voice switch...it makes it really hard and annoying to listen to. hopefully this is something they can fix as the story really is interesting and the voices are done very well....just that volume change :(

Honestly, I hadn't read the book before I listened to it on audio. I think that was actually a smart move on my part because I think Hayden did a good job bringing this story to life and helped bridge what others thought was a slow backstory. I enjoyed it to be honest, but I think the narrator actually helps with invigorating the characters and storyline.

Let me first talk about the story. I fell in love with Adele in this book! Also the guys are amazeballs and I can't wait to see what happens in book 2 between Adele and her 3 guys. I am seriously in love with Stowe and Noah and have added them to my book boyfriend list 😍😍😍. I kinda knew what was coming so I had to stop myself from listening to the end of the book on my way to work and during my lunch break in case I cried and I did tear up, so be warned haha. I am intrigued by the Collectors and what Adele is going to do to get her revenge. Also, her ex needs to stop and just be with the teacher haha. I wanted to be like duuuude move on!

Now for the narrator. I thought overall Hayden did a great job and I would listen to more audiobooks from her. My only critique that made me cringe were her overdramatization with the laughter. I really did not like how she would pause and super laugh and it felt so fake. If she cannot do that in the future audiobooks, I would definitely give her 5 stars. I thought the inflections and feelings were spot on for the storyline and character relationships. I really loved how she brought Adele to life and especially her relationship with her partner and her dad.

I definitely recommend this audiobook and book series! I can't for book 2 to be out in a couple weeks ❤️ I couldn't wait to find out what happens in the story so I am already 50% through book 2 but I definitely will be getting book 2 when its available (to listen to before book 3 comes out hopefully this summer!)

The book is just ok. I thought it would be better than it actually was. There is still a possibility for the story to get better if the writer is able to take it in the right direction. The narrator takes away from the story. She goes from quiet to loud in a second. She sounds as if she is losing her voice all the time. At times when you should be feeling a certain way you just end up feeling annoyed that she is so damn loud. I will think long and hard about rather I will continue with the series.

This was…ok. I think it’s supposed to be rh but idk. The narrator isn’t too bad. Would have been way better if it was multiple pov. There was like 0 steam. Storyline was ok.

Sounded interesting but for the love of God this book just kept dragging on and on with almost nothing happening. I kept with it cause I thought it would pick up at some point but even when some action came into the plot I couldn't, so I added it to my dnf list. FMC was supposedly 24 but but her mental age was that of a teenager. Fear not though, its just because she's so "quirky" and not a child. Things I saw coming a mile away just did not compute in her mind even though she is surrounded by psychics as well as her being one herself. She was just annoying and pathetic. She couldnt make up her mind about anything and so I guess we are blessed with the personality of a helpless girl who is constantly in a mode of inaction about literally everything. Book is supposed to be a why choose romance, but damn, they barely had any romance, just the suggestions of it over and over without it actually going anywhere.

The narration is very painful if one has ears sensitive to using ears. It sounds like a pubescent boy with laryngitis wailing into a microphone with speaker squelch.

The constant use of the term psychic mafia gives very much vibes of trying to marry Two concepts by following a basic mafia plot, but make the people psychic. Also, throw in a why choose with a mature content label… With no mature content, and no romance.

It’s a children’s book with murder. Poorly written. Poorly narrated.
