About this listen

If you'd like to improve your ability to learn, memorize and recall the Psalms of the Bible by as much as 100%, 200%, even 300% (or more)...using simple memory techniques that you can learn in 15-20 minutes (or less), then this may be the most important book that you will ever listen to.

Believe it or not, it really doesn't matter if you think you have a good memory or not.

The information in this book will teach you:

  • Why memory is like a bicycle everyone can ride (with some minor personal adjustments)
  • The real reason why no one should ever be squeamish about memorization or memorizing all 150 Psalms
  • Why and how some of the most famous memory skills are applicable to memorizing poetry, especially the Psalms
  • How you can easily create a "Psalm location" memory system based on an easy-to-use principle that lets you imagine your way through places you already know and love
  • Unique memory techniques that will have you literally "tuning in" on the language of the Psalms
  • Two secret ways you can use relaxation to aid the memorization process. These two methods alone are worth the price of this book because they will literally eliminate your stress and apprehension as you memorize the Psalms.
  • And much, much more...

An unfortunate victim of cut and paste

Despite the usefulness of memory palaces, mnemonics, and the examples given in this audiobook, it is noticeably the victim of a bad cut and paste job from beginning and end of "How to Memorize Vietnamese Vocabulary" and "How to Memorize Poetry" ... it seems odd to have to mentally edit in "psalms" and "verses" in place of "Vietnamese vocabulary" and "whatever poetry" you aspire to remember.

I wish it was what the title said

I was disappointed in the volume. It seemed like the author added a few sentence about the Psalms so he could retitle old material. It does talk about memory palaces but almost no application to the psalms.

Very little focus on Psalms

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Specific attention to and examples of Psalm memorization, rather than passing references (and very few of those). Most of material is selling the authors memory system.

What could Anthony Metivier have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Focus on topic not on author's memory system and offshoots and support web sites. No listener would guess that this book has anything to do with memorizing Psalms other than by looking at the title.

Any additional comments?

There is no way that this book gets 5 stars. See youtube for various videos on the memory palace memorization topic. I found those videos much more concise and helpful.

Very little about the Title

I think the author had more to offer, but did not deliver much of what the title suggests. He talked too much about memorizing other kinds of information. Perhaps he should have given it a more generic title about memorizing. I purchased the book in hope of memorizing Psalms.

Wow. It Definitely Works.

If you could sum up How to Learn and Memorize the Psalms of the Bible... in three words, what would they be?

Goldmine. Gamechanger. Blessing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Learn and Memorize the Psalms of the Bible...?

After I finished creating my memory palaces using the work sheet from Mr. Metivier's website, I memorized a complete chapter of Psalms in a matter of minutes. I purposely stayed away from any Psalms I already knew. The memory palaces are a little work, but you don't have to finish all of them at once -- I completed more than he suggested starting off because I was hungry for this. Once you understand, you're in for a treat.

I am looking forward to this paying off in the lives of many people to whom I lecture and preach, and in my own life. Wow. I completely memorized more verses of scripture in a few minutes (after setting up my memory palaces - you will see what they are), than I did on certain Psalms I spent months trying to internalize -- before now, some Psalms sometimes took months because I worked on other material in conjunction. But, thanks be to God, I have been blessed to find something that changes the game.

Any additional comments?

This audio book is certainly a keeper. I listened to it a couple of times since at times I was engaged in doing other things. The second time, I listened on 2x speed and was still able to get what I "overlooked" initially.

I haven't taken the time to write a review for many of the audiobooks in a few months/years; however, I would be doing everyone interested in improving his/her memory a dis-service if I did not let you know you should certainly listen to or read this book. If you don't get it in one day as I did, come back and do a little at a time. It is definitely worth it.

Advertising promo only.

This is a major advertising ploy. Will not fall for this again. This is like mega memory if you remember that....
