Would you listen to How to Be a Best Friend Forever again? Why?

Already listened to it twice. Going back for third time and probably a fourth so that I don't miss a thing. Addresses so many areas of my life. So many questions answered on the different types of friendships and the level of involvment for each. He answers and addresses things that are not really discussed in every day life. Very good stories on various friendships he's had personally and others he's counseled with. Also helps in marriage relationships and how friendships are an important part of our lives. So practical and insightful.

I gave this a two because it is read too fast. The cadence needs to be a bit slower because it is good information that needs to be taken in and digested. When I slowed the reading down, the author sounded drunk. I just could not listen as it was to frenzied of a pace.

I've been listening and reading this book for awhile (over several months) but finally stopped and committed to finish the book. It came at a point of where I have been struggling with some close friends for awhile, now it is a pivotal point. Dr. Townsend is vulnerable and graceful. He gives variety of perspective and stories and content of how to have meaningful and lasting friendships.

I'm not very good at being or making friends. John's book gave me some easy to understand tools for how I can do this.

Met me where my need is

I almost didn't purchase this audio book due to several reviews stating that it was not thorough enough or did not deal with the potential problems that friendships could encounter. While those reviews do have some weight to them, keep in mind that this is a 2-hour long book, not an exhaustive counseling session between you and your feuding friend. Every friendship experiences unique trials and conflicts.

This book cuts to the core of it and says, "This is how you can BE a best friend forever," not "This is how you can fix every friendship problem ever." Though after listening to the book within a two-day period, I must admit that if I were to apply everything I learned, I could fix my current friendship dilemmas and propel my good friendships to greater depth.

You can never change your friends and should not endeavor to do so by reading this book. You can, however, change the type of friend that you are, and change your mindset about the type of friend that you seek, and in turn, you can have friendships that are worthwhile and long-lasting.

This was such a short and enjoyable read that I know I will be reading it again soon.

Keep up with your friends that matter most. Know when to let go and when friendships naturally seperate. Get out of yourself but also know when you need your privacy.

This is the basics of the book. The rest of the book are those things elongated.

If it were honest from the beginning for saying how it would be be speaking about The Body Of Christ.

This is Bible based. If quotes from the bible tune you out, you won't get much out of this. My beliefs about Jesus have nothing to do with what I thought this book was about.
