Disturbing real-life horror collection

Do you love a good horror story?

Well, welcome to the dark world where death and fear are lurking around every corner, waiting to strike when you least expect it. Oh, and please keep the lights on because these stories are all true!

Here’s a harrowing array of spine-chilling stories that will make your heart race nonstop. This book is full of twists and turns, dark corners, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and devilish plots that get your blood pumping.

Horror Anthology contains 19 short stories of terrifying real tales of horror. With exceptional articulation and clarity, author Ann Gaiman spins dark but real tales that will make you sit on the edge of your seat.

Excerpt from the book:

Not only was it all done by a single person, this person also happened to be a highly educated historian. Many other academics knew of him, who mostly studied the folklore and history of the Celts along with linguistics and languages. His personal library contained numerous academic documents and a large and intriguing doll collection.

The investigators of the case found 26 corpses of young females between the ages of 10 and 25. The man was also accused of desecrating over 150 graves.

The corpses looked like real dolls and were mummified. Not only did he dress and put wigs on them, he also applied wax and makeup to their dead faces. He would then throw parties for the corpses that he referred to as his “girls.” An even more macabre touch was that he would put music boxes inside the rib cages of some of the more beloved dolls.

dark true crimes

This book is filled woth dark true crimes. I have actually heard all of the stories before, so there was nothing new. But I did enjoy the book. There were no ghost stories. Ann Bauman has done a good job of retelling these stories and Scott Dabbd does a great job narrating.

Real Horror Stories!

I have always been drawn to horror movies. But, it's interesting true stories of murders, as long as it doesn't happen to our family, friends, and ghost stories.

This book is filled with information, of value. I recommend it for people who like this genre!

Horror Anthology: A Horror Collection of Real Life

This is an interesting collection of stories that range from real life killers to the paranormal. I found a nice mix of new and old stories in this anthology. It is a quick listen and gives listeners a look at many different tales of horror. Each chapter gives you a new subject and enough details to pique your interest in them. Narrator Scott Dabbs does a nice job of narrating this book. The narrative goes at a nice pace and keeps the listener engaged all the way to the last story.

Campfires await

These horror stories are great. Scarier because they are/could be true. The narration was apt. The list of items not to search for at the end was just mean. I will, of course, have to look up each of the items. Morbid or not, you can't tell people who like horror and the macabre not to look up morbid items online.
The listen is worth it.

A good listen

I liked the writer's different approach on ghost stories. This was more of the author retelling people's first hand chilling encounters. The best way to explain it was like she went on Reddit and pulled from people's first hand experiences. Regardless it was a great book to listen too, a couple stories gave me the creeps.

A semi spooky short story collection

**I recieved this audiobook for free in exchange for my own honest review**

This whole short collection was alright. Some of the stories were pretty interesting, some not and for me personally, I found the last chapter to be kinda silly. Sure its absolutely terrifying what humanity is capable of on the internet, but that goes without saying.

Scott Dabbs did an okay everyman narration. However I found his lack of projection or any inflection pretty easy to zone out of and miss a few sentences here and there.

I would recommend this audiobook, but it's short structure and playtime works in its favor with its flaws.

Nice but quite short.

Good little collection very well executed but it was quite short. overall it was fine, but at $5 kind of spendy for an audio experience.

Good Collection of Horrific Real Life Tales

I love all things horror which includes true crime when it is bizarre and not just your basic murder mystery style TV show. Lots of weird things happening in these stories. As typical with collections like these some are well known and others are not. Each story is told quite well and sent me off to read some more about some of the more interesting cases. There definitely are some stories in here that you will want to learn more about. I could read a whole book on the Dyatlov Pass Incident.
These definitely have some horrific stories that I winced a bit while listening to. I am always amazed at how deranged some people can be. I have to say I really enjoyed listening to these stories. Noticed that one of the stories is the same as I heard in another collection. I assume and hope Ann Gaiman is a pen name for a different author who I have listened to before and really enjoyed. Either way, if this is your cup of tea I would recommend Hannah J. Tidy books.
Scott Dabs did a great job with the narration. As this book is more matter of fact versus actually story telling he did a great job. His narration and voice were perfect. As soon as this was over I was thinking, I need more.
