Uncover the Story Behind a One-Hundred-Year-Old Love Letter

Walk through Doors to the Past via a new series of historical stories of romance and adventure.

Clara Blackwell helps her mother manage a struggling one-hundred-year old family bookshop in Asheville, North Carolina, but the discovery of a forgotten letter opens a mystery of a long-lost romance and undiscovered inheritance which could save its future. Forced to step outside of her predictable world, Clara embarks on an adventure with only the name Oliver as a hint of the man’s identity in her great-great-grandmother’s letter. From the nearby grand estate of the Vanderbilts, to a hamlet in Derbyshire, England, Clara seeks to uncover truth about family and love that may lead to her own unexpected romance.

A wonderful story

Loved the time laps style of the story. Enjoyed the mystery as it unfolded in present day. Absolutely loved the multiple love stories among the characters. Sadie was my favorite character. The narration was not great, but tolerable.

Precious Story

I love the way Basham weaves the past and present together and ties it all up in a beautiful ending. Lovely historical places and strong characters.

Christian Historical Romance

What an incredible story of Love overcoming and changing lives for generations! God's will is so interwoven with our choices and beauty truly can come from ashes!
The narrator was great, but there were a few times the English men didn't sound English. Like maybe the story telling was confused with the character speaking. But otherwise I have only praise for the author and the narrator! May you both continue to spread God's love through your work and your lives!

What’s Not To Love About This Book!

What’s not to love about this book! A bookshop, library, and the perfect heroes. Add in a castle of such, Biltmore, where fairytales meet reality…

Whew…this has to be one of my favorite Pepper Basham books…I tend to say that every time I read another one but, truly, the heroes in this story were just exceptional. Basham constructs the perfect heroes to fit the dual timelines and circumstances of these stories, intertwining the two timelines to the sweet ending.

This is not my favorite audiobook. From a general point of view, it was well done, however, the British accents were not convincing and lacked consistency from one scene to the next. For a reader who listens to a lot of books based in England, this nuance was distracting and hard to ignore.

This book is suitable for teens and older with no inappropriate intimate scenes and no bad language.
