About this listen
A strong marriage can cope with the unexpected. But can it survive the unimaginable?
American nanny Eleanor was never meant to meet Alex. But when she walks into his London police station to report a stalker, everything changes for them both. He’s convinced he can protect her from anything and anyone. She hopes her darkest days are behind her.
As they settle into their life together, two hundred miles away another young couple faces an uncertain future. Christie knows Paul is a decent man, but she can’t shake a clairvoyant’s warning: ‘Never trust your husband . . .’ When a work trip tests their bond, will she overcome her fears for the sake of her family?
Ten years later, both couples are still together, for better or worse. But as doubts and resentments begin bubbling steadily to the surface, all four of them start to question the choices they’ve made.
At least the secrets they all brought into their marriages are still well hidden.
For now.

interesting book, passable narration
interesting book, it took me a while to figure out how the characters interconnected. although, choosing an American narrator to put on a British accent for an entire book was probably not the best choice. it's a book I will read again to catch the little clues I missed the first time around, but I don't think I will listen to it in audio. the faux British accent is a little much. there are plenty of talented British narrators out there.

Meandering Story- LOTS of Superfluous Stuff
I spent the last half of this book wondering why oh why oh why was I continuing to listen & where was this all going? As other reviews have noted she ties it up at the end -- the very end. The ending was neither revelatory nor particularly satisfying. I was glad to have it done. Yes, I made it thru the whole book, probably based on the characters, mostly because it was so convoluted I just wanted to know how the heck it all tied together. Be warned: this author completely disregards the tried and true rule of fiction, that extemporaneous details are going to mean something. Lots of details meant nothing at all as far as I could tell, with the exception of adding about three hours to the length of the book.

Meh!!
Meh, IDK why or even how this title has such a high rating but it is not truly worth a credit. 10 hours of storytelling, at least 3 different storylines that are seemingly unrelated, only to finally connect the 3 stories in the last hour of the book. Do you know how disjointed and random a story can come off with that sort of timeline? If you want to know the answer to this question...then go ahead and waste your credit! Smh! OOHh,,. and the supposed "secret" which is later revealed is extremely subpar and mediocre!
