Publisher's summary
Leaders aren't always who you think they are. Eventually, most of us will be called on to lead someone, whether it's a department, a shift, a project team or a new employee. And speaker, strategist, and author Liz Jazwiec, RN, says being a good leader requires certain traits: A dash of fearlessness, the ability to tell it like it is, the willingness to learn from and laugh at your mistakes and Cupcake, you're gonna make some!
Plenty of books have been written on leadership, but few have told the brutal and funny truth quite like Hey Cupcake! We are ALL Leaders. Bringing back the trademark slightly sarcastic style that listeners loved in Eat THAT Cookie!, Liz focuses on bringing out the great leader that exists in all of us.
Funny, uplifting and relatable, Hey Cupcake! is packed with hilarious anecdotes and solid advice from Liz's own experiences as a leader.

Story
Is it possible to create a positive workforce in negative times? Yes, it is, says speaker, strategist and consultant Liz Jazwiec, RN. But first, you have to get real about how tough a job in healthcare really is and also about the negative things you and your staff members do to make it even tougher. In her audiobook, Liz gets real about all that and more. In her darkly humorous, ever-so-slightly sarcastic style - after all she was an ER nurse - she builds a case for the powerful benefits of a positive workplace.

Story
Most of us work ourselves silly focusing on quality, demonstrated outcomes, and proven results. That's a good thing. Yet too often we often stop short of the final step: zeroing in on how all our hard work comes across to the patient or customer. Why do we spend so much time making sure the ingredients are right...and so little time thinking about perception? Liz Jazwiec, award-winning author of Eat That Cookie! and Hey Cupcake!, asks (and answers) this question in her latest book.

People are the problem. They're always the problem. If a business person goes home frustrated, if they talk with their significant other about it, if they lay awake at night stewing about it, inevitably the problem is some person at work - a colleague, subordinate, or boss. Handling people issues is every leader's major headache. It's what takes up the majority of their time and - more important - the bulk of their head space. Every leader can and must develop this most important of all management skills.

Story
Throw Out Fifty Things is truly an eye-opener. According to Blanke, our lives are so filled with junk from the past--from dried up tubes of crazy glue to old grudges--that's it's a wonder we can get up in the morning, never mind go to work, care for our children and parents, and just put one foot in front of the other. Blanke wants to start a movement of people across America throwing out 50 things (magazines count as one!) that will help liberate us from the stuff - both physical and mental - that clutters our lives.

Cupcakes? Yes, please!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is a great book for anyone in leadership, official or unofficial. Liz has a great way of getting you to look at your own behaviors and attitudes while making you laugh. I never feel like she is superior but rather, that she's been there.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait for her next book coming out soon!

Many Ah ha moments
I had several “ah ha” moments in this book. One was that I needed to let go of the banana. I needed to quit being a victim and “let it go”. This is a must read for leaders who are genuine and need some personal insight as well actions with staff. I can’t wait to read the next one!
