Publisher's summary

On Ham Farm, the remnants of the British Army watch as the massive horde approach in the distance. Joining forces with the Smith sisters, they face a race against time to fortify the area before the dead attack. Vastly outnumbered, all they can do is pray their training and arsenal of weapons will see them through the coming battle. If they manage to repel the multitudes of rotting zombies, the real war is only just beginning. Inside the castle, the survivors start to take the safety of the impenetrable fortress for granted. Kurt and the family know what needs to be done to survive the zombie apocalypse, but a lazy clique begin to show their cowardice. Refusing to fight, forage, or guard the walls, they skulk away and isolate themselves, weakening the defenses further. With Craig planning terrible revenge, this selfish act could have deadly consequences for them all.

Sufficiently Brutal Zombie Tale

This is the first time I've dipped my toes back in the sub genre of zombie fiction in a while and I'm happy to say it was a positive experience. The zombies are gross and relentless and the people range from team players helping humanity to worse than the undead husks that haunt the landscape.

Fleet has his survivors situated in a couple of locations each dealing with their own issues but there's just a feeling that they're headed for a winner take all showdown where said winner might just be the dead themselves.

The performance was solid as well with a great understandable accent that helped cement the setting and enough emoting and drama that the Listener is transported to the in book universe with the characters they're hearing from.

I received the review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review. I recommend it, though most likely starting with the first in the series.

Despite everything A great example of this genre

Hellspawn Dominion: Hellspawn Series, Book 5. Not a great fan of Zombie fiction set in the UK, Dropped into this series in book 5 not a great place to start reading a series. That said I found this book to be a great read fun, fast paced, absolutely packed with action, and a great twist on the genre.
Narrator Paul Jenkins is the voice of British fiction. Excellent.

Really like this series

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I had only listened to the previous book (book 4) before, but I really liked it. This was a good continuation of that book, to me. It kept up the brutal pace and visceral qualities I like in a zombie survival story. The narration is very well done and really made this an engaging listen for me. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

Three groups on a collision course!

Book five in the Hellspawn Series continues the apocalyptic action with the three groups of survivors; Kurt and crew in the castle, the Smith sisters on Ham Farm, and Craig and company in the prison. Each group possess their own story as the plot revolves around them, but all three are seemingly on a collision course. There’s plenty of action although the story focuses more on the characters than the zombies. I’m not a fan of the British accent, but the narrator does an excellent job of delivering the goods. Three.point.five for flavor. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
