Excellent Sequel

The sequel to Mutineer's Moon has so much to offer! Continued plots and universe building as one expects from Weber's writing. I truly enjoy this particular reality he's crafting and eagerly await more books in the Dahak series!

Great Adventure and excellent series.

The recording is missing chapter 28 which is important to the story. Need to fix it.

Great except...

This book is still a charming story and I am sad it's the last one in the series. There is one wonky aspect, hence the 4 star rating.

The book is overtly a slam against religion. It's sad really. It's not necessary for the plot. It's also dishonest. He writes as if religion's only real motive is it's a vehicle for power. And then fails to acknowledge how government, education, science, technology, and status do the exact same thing.

Basically a rough draft of the "Safehold" series

This is basically a rough draft of the "Safehold" series. I remember reading this as a kid, and then reading the Safehold books and thinking that it seems too familiar. I'm glad the story was expanded!

Outstanding

As always a great read from David Weber action packed and fun to read. If there is any drawback, it is that some portions seem to have been taken from the Safehold series

Not Finished

This book is the basis for the Safehold series. To bad this series was not continued.

space, roman military history, romance and intrigue

I liked the whole thing! It's a really great series. Interestingly, and in my opinion of course, the female characters are more compelling than the male- even though the protagonist/hero is a young man. The battle details are a bit to technical and not visual enough- but its not a fatal flaw.

Best of the series yet

The first book was, well, rough. I stuck through it though and listened to book 2. Better, but still a little rough around the edges. Book 3 now, this one is the best of the series and left me wishing for the story to continue. Bravo.

Dahak

Excellent story. Character development was thorough. David Weber never disappoints. Narration was superb. Will continue to read Weber's work.
