About this listen

When Kurtis takes his final breath, everything changes. When Kurtis’s last will was read before his coffin, billionaire Jack Lawrence lost everything he thought he would one day gain, and Meagan gained something much more substantial than she would have ever expected. And neither individual is happy about it.

With the revelation of a lifetime on her shoulders, Meagan leaves and takes a much-needed vacation to cope. When it’s finally time to come back and accept the responsibility bequeathed her, she knows that everything is different between her and her “husband” Jack. She must face the man who has every right to hate her for what she was given. But once accomplishing that task, there is something much deadlier at her back.

With a billion-dollar inheritance in Meagan’s back pocket, people would do anything to either get their share or remove her from the picture entirely. With money comes responsibility and danger that she never would have imagined.

Meagan no longer needs to fear for her financial situation, but her life is a different story.

immersing

I was not impressed. I couldn’t relate to Meagan or Jack and I couldn’t help but question the practicality of everything that happened. Even just the start of the book, Jack’s father would never leave his entire portion of the business to someone he had just met. The story did have a few redeeming qualities, like the danger in which Meagan found herself in numerous parts and the attractively protective Jack.

You won’t regret reading it.

Vibe of this last book is something entirely different than all the other billionaire romance books I have read through the years. It is unique, but still follows the genre’s basic notions. Some of the twists and turns incorporated in this book make it entirely unforgettable. Each chapter ended in a way that left you craving the next one. The book gave no room for breaks and I finished it in under two hours.

It had a good ending.

I didn’t like how the beginning of the book cut forward six months and didn’t show us the struggles Meagan faced at home. Another book on that time would be cool. The end was good. And the tension was awesome too.

Beautiful!!!

I love Jack and Meagan’s romance! It’s a beautiful love story, but the romance remains innocent. I would have appreciated way more adult romance scenes. Also, the turns of the story seemed to come from nowhere. Aside from that, I would read another book if the author adds another to the trilogy.

I just can't seem to put it down.

I couldn’t put this book down. I read it cover to cover without distraction and I have to say, it is suspenseful and it’s clear that romance was not the main focus of this story. Don’t get me wrong, romance was a main plot point, but this story has much more to offer than that.

I would have to give it five stars.

My feelings on this book are really indecisive. On one hand, I love Meagan and Jack’s relationship. But it felt a bit forced. I am in love with all the conflict that hinders their relationship and the idea of the father being really important through each of the books, despite being dead, is really great. The foreshadowing that I hadn’t noticed until the end is another big selling point. If the relationship didn’t feel forced at times,

Brilliant!

Wowzah! The author did a brilliant job at making the characters relatable and the story itself amazing. The power of foreshadowing used in these books is excellent and not at all predictable. I love how the ending does not portray rainbows and butterflies, but the genuine healing process. The connection between Fraser and Lucy, though, did seem to be forced on the story. Other than that, great book!

I'm recommending this.

SPOILER ALERT: Here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter how much I love the book. The ending is not conclusive. They never found Lucy, and she was such a major point of the conflict. This is an excellent book, but when the ending is not completely conclusive, I can’t rate it higher than three-stars. Nevertheless, I recommend reading it (if you can tolerate an unanswered question or two at the end).

An excellent ending

This was an excellent ending to an even more amazing series. Meagan and Jack are well-developed characters who face realistic challenges. Even the best moments are tinged with realistically negative aspects. I feel like I didn’t really get to know either of the women who were working against Meagan, so I didn’t understand their motivations fully, but it was clear enough. Other than that, I’m obsessed with this series!

Quite a good one.

This book was good, but nothing more. It needed more chemistry between the characters and a little more development. No complaints, but it wasn’t excellent. More romance and scenes between Meagan and Jack would have been better.
