About this listen

The Matches Which Built and Crippled an Industry

Frank Gotch turned pro wrestling from a fringe spectacle to one of the most popular spectator sports. Still, it took Gotch three years to lure undefeated World Champion George Hackenschmidt to the United States for a title defense.

The result was two controversial but legitimate wrestling matches, whose effects were felt for the next two decades.

Very interesting story!

I honestly was hoping this book was a little bit longer once I got into it, but it was really only about a short time frame in the early wrestling days. Well worth the listen though! The author paints a good picture of these wrestlers emotions and backgrounds going into the contest.

It was informative.

I'm not 100% sure about the accuracy of the information, but it was cool to find something on here to listen to while I'm at work.

Hopefully we'll get some more...
