About this listen

I’m Jinx, a private investigator, a truth seeker and an empath. Even with all that magic at my fingertips, I don’t know if I can save my best friend.

And she’s not the only ill one. The magical creatures of the Other Realm are falling sick - even the supposedly immortal ones. The illness is striking two by two like a plague-filled Noah’s Ark. The mermen asked for help first, but it turns out they’re just the tip of the iceberg.

Gato and I need to find the source of the sickness, to stop it spreading, and to find the antidote. Emory’s adoptive parents are two of the ones that have fallen sick, and I can’t watch him lose his pseudo-parents when I’ve already lost mine. I’ll do anything to save the stricken victims - even if it means working with my parents’ own killer…

I know this much: The illness isn’t natural, and whoever is behind this has nothing but sinister intentions.

I need to find the perpetrator.

I need to find the cure.

And I need to work out how I feel about Emory. I don’t know which task will be harder…

Great Series

Love the characters and storyline. Author does a good job giving enough information to get you involved but not so much that you are skipping pages.

Enjoyed this book.

I truly loved how the book came to life in this audio. The world and characters this author has managed to create is amazing. If you love urban fantasy, you really should check this series out.

Still entertaining

The pacing/worldbuilding still feels a bit too fast for me. Characters and plot points are sometimes glossed over so quickly that by the time things come to a head at the end of the book, it's hard to keep everything straight. Would like to see some more nuance with Jinx. She's a little too good at everything too soon. I never really worry about her. Emory is a perfectly fine choice for a love interest, but I thought Stone was a more interesting character. Narration is good, but a bit rougher than in previous books (few spots of background noise, lots of breathy intakes through her nose, a couple of duplicated lines).

Fun story, interesting plot development

I enjoyed this 3rd book in the series. The characters are interesting and the overarching story is coming together. The slow burn is showing some progression. It's more of a "fade to black" situation, but that's ok.

The narrator is still great. I'm excited to see how the story ends.

Great PNR!

Heather G. Harris is a new author to me. This was an excellent series!

Meet Jinx. Jinx has a private investigation agency and a Great Dane.
Then Jinx takes a job to steal a vase and discovers Dragons, Werewolves, Vampires, Witches and lots of other magical creatures.
If you like Paranormal Romance you will love this series. The intimate scenes are hinted at and not explicit!

In book 3 you will have all the feels

Each book ends in a cliffhanger but there is only 4 books in the series and it is complete.
I like Alyse Gibb's narration. This book takes place in London and Liverpool so it is narrated with a British accent.

These books were ARC copies and this is my honest review.

Same

This story is similar in plot and tone to the two that came before. It felt a little dull and not too much happened. I feel like the series will probably just continue on like this so I am going to.stop here.
