About this listen

I’m just a nerd, he’s just a jock. Can I make it any more obvious?

When a tall and handsome varsity hockey player moves into the apartment across the hall, I don’t expect us to become friends. Frankie’s a recently single dad with a newborn. I’m a virgin and a nerd who’s never truly felt like I fit in anywhere. The only thing we have in common is we’re both seniors in college. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to recognize that he’s definitely out of my league. But despite how popular Frankie is, he keeps me in his orbit for some reason.

When Frankie mentions he needs help passing an organic chemistry class, I decide to help him. Chemistry’s supposed to come naturally to me, but when I’m with Frankie, the only chemistry on my mind is the emotional and physical kind I feel when I’m close to him.

If he’s an electron, then I must be a proton. Because this attraction is electrifying.

I’m terrified of how vulnerable I feel when I develop feelings for him. But if I ever want us to be more than just friends, I’m going to have to let myself fall, and trust that gravity won’t work against me.

Frankie is a full-length standalone romance novel in the Single Dads Club series with no cliffhanger and a HEA. Recommended for 18+.

low angst and sweet!

I have really enjoy this series, and if you didn't realize it is a series, I recommend reading or listening to The rest of them first, starting with Damon. Michael Dean, as always, does a stellar job, his voice for Frankie started out a lot like Griffin from Lucy lennox's Grounding Griffin in the Made Marian series, but after it's the first chapter it took on its own qualities and gave Frankie life of his own. This is a very sweet story, if a little cliche. However; it has its own turns and roundabouts that make it worth listening to regardless. It's definitely a feel-good story, and one to listen to when you're having a bad day and need cheering up! For the person who didn't realize this was an LGBTQIA book, it is part of an LGBTQIA series. I recommend never starting in the middle of a series, and doing a little more research before you buy a book, both on the author and of the series itself. And as 'Michael Dean' has created that name specifically for his LGBTQIA books, all it would have taken is to look at some of his other books to realize under Michael Dean he only does LGBTQIA. So really, before you spend money do a little more research. Don't take it out on the author and narrator just because You didn't do your due diligence before spending money. Anyway, this is a great feel-good book with a fantastic narrator! I absolutely recommend listening to it when you're having a down day!

It was alright...

This book isn’t bad...I just don’t have the feeling I would ever re-listen to it and that is the ultimate prize I give when I find a new audiobook. I’ve officially finished the entire series and Austin will forever remain my favorite. That’s followed by Clayton (book 2.5) and I would be super stoked to see that version brought to Audible as well. One of the main issues I had with Frankie is that the voices of Frankie and Brayden were completely different than what they were in Austin. Michael Dean did a good job with keeping both Clayton and Austin’s voices the same, but it was strange hearing Brayden with the deeper voice in this book and it most definitely threw me off. The storyline was okay, but I had a hard time connecting with Frankie and Ian. I found that by the end, I really didn’t end up liking either character that much. I had a similar experience when I listened to Damon. I would say that the best books out of the series are Clayton, Austin, and Liam and you could quite easily skip Damon and Frankie and be completely fine (you aren’t missing anything).
