About this listen

Love can be a devil and a saint.

A scarred vigilante.
A titled beauty.
Two secrets. One fateful encounter.
Two lies. One truth.
A happening that left London speechless.
A witness—the entire city.

On December 19th, 1851, a crime took place in the center of London. One of the few who knows what truly happened is Countess Alina Bronskaya.

But she will never speak of it.
The crime is her curse and her salvation.
Her culprits are the men who gave her their hearts.
One is a gentleman-devil.
The other is the Duke of Ravenaugh.
This is a story of redemption.
And in the center of it all—love. Passionate. Overpowering. Changing the course of history.

The sort of love that can ruin a man.
The one that can save him.

Flowers for the Devil is a dark Victorian romance with tormented villain, strong heroine, forbidden love, secret identity, and diverse characters tropes. This is not a love triangle. The novel has mature situations and themes which may be considered triggers for some. Listeners' discretion is advised.

Beautiful. Very unique story and exquisite performances.

This is a dark story of love and war. The darkness makes sense and allows the light to grow slowly. Characters are beautifully written and performed. The relationship is sensual and explicit. The flow of the story is unique, it took some time to become accustomed to the rhythm. It is a beautiful tale that brings love and a redemption you will not see coming.

Beautiful and dark

This is so much more than a gothic tale. This is a beautiful story of finding redemption from pain. The narration was superb, I could listen to both voices all day every day and never tire of them.

Dark Romance

I loved the voice actors for this novel, and the amount of tension the author builds between the characters.

An excellent, unforgettable story

This was a thought provoking, epic story, beautifully descriptive…. clings to your soul long after the final word. The characters felt unique, the plot - while perfectly predictable- never felt plodding or dull.

Behold My Heart

The narration was beautiful, the mail narrator especially. This was one of my top 5 books of all time. It was beautifully written and well executed. I love the characters so much. They felt true and real. Their choices did not seem to made for dramatic effect but choices real people would make. I truly enjoyed this book.

Lovely, Captivating Read!

This book was an absolute delight to devour. I especially liked the differences in narration and most particularly the Gentleman Devil's POV. The ache and angst of loving someone but not feeling safe to reveal your true self is extremely relatable. The Gentleman Devil is a character that you can not help but love and blurs the lines between "Good and Evil." This type of nuanced villain is a treat to savor, especially as he considers his identity while pursuing Alina. Alina is a strong female character, and the it was an interesting decision to structure her part of the narration in a more removed sense as opposed to the first person narration from the Gentleman Devil. I really enjoyed delving into his mind. The prose is beautiful and punctuates the author's attention to detail. The tender intimacy and slow burn escalation between Alina and the Gentleman Devil are exquisite. The spice is top shelf and you can't help but be swept away by this passionate love story of Alina and her phantom vigilante. I tip my tophat to our author-this is a listen and a romance that you won't want to end!
