Long ago, when myth and legends were known to be true, the power of the flame resided in all people throughout the land. Now the power is all but forgotten until it awakens once more on a night filled with blood. Eight years after witnessing the slaughter of his family and the blue flame that emerged from his hand, Ron picked up the pieces of his shattered life and built a new one in Greyland. Over the years, Ron trained in the Arena with his closest friend Grant while waiting for the perfect time to tell Nora how he feels about her. However, the past is not so easily left behind when a stranger arrives to deliver a message. 'If you seek answers, return to where it all began.'
With only the message to guide him, Ron ventures into the world with Nora and Grant to uncover the truth about his past and put an end to the nightmares that plague his mind. What Ron discovers not only forces him to confront his past but sets in motion a series of events that will challenge him, Nora, and Grant at every turn. They will suffer the consequences of every choice they make and learn that the shadows from Ron's past have returned to bring the world and its people to their knees.

Great Fantasy Epic
If you’re looking for a fantasy book that’s more than just magic and monsters, this one is worth checking out. From the start, I got hooked on Ron’s journey—a guy trying to rebuild his life after a heartbreaking loss, only to have everything unravel when he gets a cryptic message that pulls him back into a past he thought he’d escaped.
The author has created a richly detailed world filled with characters that are well-developed. And the audiobook is also pretty immersive, thanks to the narrator’s range of voices and the addition of sound effects that make you feel like you’re right there in the story.
If you’re into epic fantasy with tons of lore, you’ll love this book. It’s an emotionally intense story that makes you think — which is exactly what I want from a good read.

Flame of Deception by Matt Trevino narrated by Nigel Peever is excellent action and adventure story. It is enjoyable, entertaining and action packed. The story is well written and the characters are very interesting. The main character has a destiny he has to decide whether to follow or not. I did get the book for free for a honest review.

Unstoppable Page-Turner!!
I didn't like anything.....I loved everything!!!! This book was an absolute knockout! It overflowed with story, brimming with depth and vibrant character development from the main hero to every single side character. I found myself deeply invested in everyone’s journey—whether they were heroes or villains. The sheer length of the book only added to its fun; it was packed with so much content, and I savored every single moment. The narration was phenomenal, drawing me into the world with an irresistible grip. I’m beyond excited for book two—I can’t wait to dive back in! A five-star listen from start to finish!

a Definite Page Turner
This starts out slowly and builds up as it goes on. A very captivating story with good character building as the story progresses. At the beginning of the book you start our with a couple of young men who have been in school learning the art of fighting. They ate best friends that over a period of 6 yrs have gotten as close as brothers and into their share of mischief. Narrator does a Great job with this story and the characters in this book.

Always Entertaining!
I loved the book and series. It is full of action and adventure. Well written and listening to Peever is like being in Imax watching a show. He never let's you down.
