Publisher's summary

Post-apocalyptic fiction by N.C. Reed.

Clayton Sanders left home the minute he had his high school diploma in hand. He waited that long only because the army wouldn't accept him without one. Now, 10 years later, he's home. Home with no warning, no advance notice, no anything after being gone 10 years with almost no contact with his family. Home carrying a secret that is burning him up from the inside. A secret that has pushed him to the brink, forcing him to become a criminal in order to be where his family needs him to be, even though they don't realize it yet. Because Clayton knows something they don't. Something that hasn't happened, but will. Something that will burn everything it touches. And change the face of the world forever.

puppies guns and Fire

here's another good book. Not the best of them but not.. the thing I like the best is the deal with people. People in bad spots. People are we doing here and I like the fact that instead of a bunch of cannibalistic Raiders,
then taking us to see force of nature. Pretty book worth spending money on

Enjoying the Sanders family saga of post apocalyptic life

I have really enjoyed reading about the challenges facing the world after “the lights went out.” Life proves to be extremely challenging and clearly only the strong survive. At first I was not a real fan of Lee Alan’s narration but now I am convinced that he is perfect for this series. As listeners we should be willing to try new readers. If I had not taken a chance, in spite of several bad reviews, I would have missed an intriguing story of survival of the fittest and strong family loyalty.

Better and better

Love the series. I will continue the series in binge mode!! Tons of characters but development leaves you feeling you know them and their issues and wanting more.

Great Series, can't wait till the next book comes

I finished all 3 books in this series in less then a week, great story. Only thing that could have made it better is if it was narrated by Kevin Pierce, which by no means is a dig on Lee Allen, because he does a great job, but Kevin Pierce just does end of the world like no other.

Ready for number four............

A little light compared to the first two in the series, but a good read. The ending totally unexpected........ 😈

Recommendation - A Good Series to Listen or Read

I liked the Kindle and am always impatiently waiting for the Audible. Yes I purchase both as the Kindle comes out first :-) People who are interested in apocalypse CME/EMP disasters will enjoy reading and or listening to this series, which Book 1 hooks you from the start. As always, cannot wait for the next instalment :-)

Engaging Story and Performance

This series is very enjoyable. I have just finished book 8 so I am going to use this comment for all reviews. The story draws you into the family as if you are part of the Sanders clan. I was hooked by Odd Billy Todd and then the Parno books and honestly this series is now my favorite series of all time. Book one started off slow for me but by the end of book one, I was coming back for more. The author is truly a very good story writer. There are some slow points but what you think is a slow point will turn around later to be the background for the more riveting parts. It's hard to find good stories with characters you care about but not here. Some people have complained about the performance in some of the later books, hearing background noises and yes there are some but I miss the narrator as I am now on another book and I miss this series, I miss this family and even the narrator. I think it was an excellent performance, the old man's voice, Clay's voice, Brick, all the voices are very good. I highly recommend this series.
