Publisher's summary

From the author of Curse of the Alpha!

Something wicked is headed for Tarker's Hollow...

Ainsley Connor is faced with her toughest challenge yet. With her mate gone, she's left alone to defend her territory from rival wolves, dark magic, and worst of all, the threat of losing her pack if she doesn't impress her superiors.

Erik Jensen is not who he claims to be. When he comes to the shifter town of Copper Creek to help after a mining accident, he discovers there is more going on than meets the eye. Now he must uncover the secret of the sleepy little town, before the wolves discover his.

Grace Kwan-Cortez knows how tough it is being a cop in a town full of shape-shifters, magic and who knows what else. What she isn't prepared for are the feelings she can't seem to shake since meeting Julian. And she can't decide which option she dreads more, that he ensnared her in some sort of spell, or that the feelings might actually be real.

Julian Magie is in possession of certain information. Information that could change Tarker's Hollow, and the world, forever. Torn between his sworn duty and his allegiance to his friends, Julian must decide who to trust, and where his true loyalties lie.

Enjoyable Series

I enjoyed listening to this instalment in the really good series, my one complaint is that each episode is not long enough.

Once again Tasha has given us a lot to think about. Ainsley is having to rule her pack without her mate Eric who has been sent to another pack to help after a mine collapse without members of either pack finding out he can no longer shift. She is also having to put up with attacks from dark magic and rival wolves.

We find out in this episode that there is a reason each pack is located where it is and we also learn more about who is behind the attack on Ainsley which resulted in Eric being unable to shift.

Grace is also learning more about Julian and her own abilities. As usual it ends on a really good cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next instalment.

secrets and lies

wow, this book has some big reveals. poor Ainsley is trying to keep a counsel woman from finding out what's up while her mate is out of town. this is harder than it seems as an old acquaintance turns out to be an enemy. the full moon doubles some problems, add some magic and you're in for a some major twists. there is violence and adult content. can't wait to see how this ends!!!!

Love this series!

Things are heating up in Tarker's Hollow! Ainsley is battling foes she didn't know that she had. On top of all of that, the federation has sent a rather interesting but difficult Alpha to check in on the pack. Luckily Ainsley has some amazing friends to help her out with all of this craziness. Grace is starting to become one of my favorite characters because she is always there to help Ainsley. Eric has a lot of work to do to figure out what is going on in Copper Creek. Can't wait to find out the ending to this series and see where it leaves all of my favorite characters!

KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT

This is the fifth book in the Tarker’s Hollow series. They do need to be read in the order of release, as this is a continuing serial.

As I warned you after reading book one, I will warn you again. There is a cliffhanger! This is a serial and it is done in the old fashion style. Do yourself a favor. Have all three books bought in advance so that you can just jump from one to two to three.

The multiple storylines are beautifully woven and kept me on the edge of my car seat as I drove down the highway. This is what I want my audiobooks to do.

In this installment, I found out more about the uniqueness of this world of wolves and magic. They are very lusty and that lust is part of their being wolf – like two halves of the same cookie. What I first saw as slutty (Ophelia), I now appreciate as part of her power. I’m looking forward to seeing how that plays out for Ainsley with Erik’s wolf missing.

Narration: Addison Spear is a fabulous narrator. Her voice and inflection make the story come alive. One gem to her style is that she doesn’t overemphasize the “naughty” words, because she’s comfortable with what she is reading. I find that to be a coveted rarity. Well done!

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Great Second Book in the Series!

This is the second book in the Fate of the Alpha Series, and the fifth book in the Tarker's Hollow Series. The story continues. We follow Ainsley, Eric, Grace and Julian in this story. The storyline is more complex, and we learn more about all the characters. The story has a lot of twists and turns. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. Addison Spear did an amazing job with the narration.
