About this listen

A place where vampires rule, witches play, danger lurks and dreams really do come true.

Eternal Island is a paranormal suspense novel, deeply rooted into myth. Vampires and magic form a unique backdrop to a love story with long reaching consequences. Human girl Ariana Lochalan finds herself transported from the relative calm of her ‘Nowhere, Arkansas’ life into a diametrically opposite existence when she discovers she is a powerful witch and meant to wed High Vampire of Eternal Island, Abe Cambridge. Despite first-sight magnetism, the two protagonists are being pushed apart, obstacles tripping them at every step, outside forces interfering and threatening their peace, and ultimately their lives. A world rich in magic and intrigue, Eternal Island is the first instalment of a saga which has love at its core and delves through the mire that is human nature in a turmoil of feeling and emotion.

Would courage, resilience and love be enough to bring together two soul mates?

How much would you sacrifice to save the one who owns your heart?

Absolutely Wonderful!

I've had this audio for some time and I kept pushing it back and I could kick myself for doing so. This story is wonderful and I absolutely LOVED it. The next story, Eternal Immortality is The second and its just as great as this one. This story is a paranormal suspense, with vampires, magic, and there's alot of other things in this story. K.S. Haigwood has written another story that you can't help but fall in love with. She had another author join in creating this series. I don't know much about author Ella Medler but I know this story is perfect and she helped in writing it. The characters are wonderful and it was easy to connect with them. Who wouldn't want an island that's invisible and still have the perks of a normal island? There's simple rules that go with being able to live there, like you can have a visit but before you leave your memory is erased of ever being there. I wouldn't care, I definitely want to go there. Its a brilliant story, well thought out, and written to perfection. This story is captivating, spellbinding, and breathtaking. Its a fast paced story and I listened to it without stopping. The story is intense, exciting, and filled with emotion.

The narrator Mebra Kordos brought the characters to life. I haven't listened to anything by this narrator but she did a superb job with her performance. She did a perfect job with the accents of each character and their personalities. I didn't have any trouble knowing the character who was speaking throughout the story. She did an amazing job. I highly recommend that you give this story a listen. I guarantee you'll enjoy it as much as I have.

Take me to Eternal Island

Would you consider the audio edition of Eternal Island to be better than the print version?

To have an audio version of a book you already love can be scary to listen to because you don't want it to not be great. This one is great and it just enhanced my experience with this book. It's like getting a movie made of your favorite book, only the actors are the very ones you thought they would be, and no one has cut the book up so much you don't recognize it. It's the entire book being told to you and you get to experience all the feelings you read it the first time. I just closed my eyes and got swept away.

What did you like best about this story?

This story is beautiful because it is crazy exciting, loving, heartbreaking, and full of emotion. Never are you certain what will happen or how it will happen. The characters are strong and just make each other better. The story behind each character will just suck you in and make you want more.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many scenes I loved and each time I think about them they bring back the emotions I had when I first read it. I think my favorite part is the initial pond scene when Abe jumps in fully clothed. It was a point in the book where a reader can tell he has really changed and everything is now about his love for Ariana, not just about work or taking care of everyone else.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I almost made it also but had to sleep. I did listen through lunch and dinner though. The voices of the characters were pleasant and entertaining. It was easy to distinguish between them with no confusion of who was speaking.

Any additional comments?

Haigwood and Medler did an exceptional job developing a story line that will keep you interested in these characters to the very end...and beyond. In fact, I'm off to the next book Eternal Immortality. Try this wonderful story of witches, vampires, humans, tigers, and lions, but no bears.

The eternal series

Any additional comments?

This audiobook is a very creative story. The book suggests that there very well might be alot we dont know about. The Eternal island is hidden from the outside world and those who would do the residents harm but it is different from the outside world in that witches and vampires live together. Very good story.

New type of adventure!

So this is a new genre for me but I went in completely open minded and I’m glad I did! I was expecting pomp and circumstance of this mythical island, but the characters read as real characters and real emotions. The only thing that read/listened a little heavy was the abundance of descriptions with extensive detail. Just felt like a little to much at times. I do agree, the narrator was on the verge of “over doing it” and really needs to work on her male voice. I will definitely listen to the next one in the series...I want the adventure to continue.

Different new fantasy world

This was a different PN listen from the normal.
Yes it’s Witches , Ghosts, humans, and vampires rule, but in this world it’s an island, invitation only, existence known by the inhabitants only. This was a fun beginning to a new series, with intrigue, a budding romance, a wedding and some interesting twists and turns.
Enjoyed the narration Melora Kordos.
Gifted for a fair and honest review.
Moving on to Eternal Immortality, book two in The Eternal series.

if I wanted to talk to Siri I'd ask for directions

I hated to dismiss this story out of hand however, I just couldn't get into the robotic inflection of the narrator. I didn't even get to an emotional scene ( eeeek, I shudder at the thought, ...oooh yeah ..( pause pause) that is good( pause pause) just weird! .ok I know I would not do better but I didn't read a whole book in robot voice either. I blame the producer. this narrator needs to stick to voice mail menus. who knows ? she could have a bright future in press #1 voice overs.
