About this listen
A dead girl's cry for justice.
A serial killer on the loose.
Not your typical first date.
"Crazy Amy" Benson has an unusual talent for hearing epitaphs as the dead pass on. The men she dates who aren't unnerved by her ability are usually scared off by Amy's brothers. When reporter Kevin McCormick shows up to do a story at the cemetery, Amy tells him his dead sister is calling for justice, except Kevin's sister died in an accident.
Kevin relays Amy's odd message to his family and unleashes a killer. While Kevin strives to be an investigative reporter, he doesn't anticipate his first opportunity will focus on the murders of his own family. Now, he has to protect the alluring epitaph writer while hunting for evidence against the killer.

There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”. When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

You’ve heard of these groups–the secretive ones that only the crème de la crème are invited into, the ones outsiders speculate about for centuries–I’m the second in my family invited to attend, but to them, I’m fresh meat. New blood. New money, too. They think they’ll elbow past me, that I’m here for their amusement, for them to walk all over, they’ll find out soon enough that I’m not. I may look like one of them, with my designer bags and clothes straight from the Parisian runways, but I’m not.

So unique!
I have never read anything like this before, and I loved it!
Amy hears the dead. She knows exactly what they want to be put on their headstones. When Kevin comes to do a story on her family business of making grave markers, she finds out that he's the brother of one woman buried in the cemetery. This woman constantly talks to Amy. She wants justice. When Amy tells Kevin about his sister's wishes, a series of events unfold to put both of them in danger.
This book was so good. I've read my share of paranormal romance novels, but this one is definitely unique. I have never read anything quite like this. Amy is such an amazing character. She knows who she is and isn't afraid to be that. She also isn't one to change herself for a man. Kevin is great as well. He accepts who Amy is, after being convinced she isn't joking. They both want to be so careful with the other and it was so refreshing. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Jane Oppenheimer did a wonderful job with the narration on this audiobook. Her portrayal of all the characters was perfect and fit the story perfectly. Her narration pulled me into the story and kept me there.

Romantic suspense not a cozy mystery
Okay so I went into this book thinking it was more of a cozy, easy going mystery with some romance.. and it was not. It was way more intense. Which is not a bad thing! It just threw me off guard. Amy is an extremely likable character. I think she has a really good attitude for someone everyone thinks is crazy. Kevin was also a likable character. Kevin thinks his sister died in an accident but learns otherwise because of Amy's gift. The case is reopened and a killer is on the loose. This book is action packed. Amy's brothers add a bit of humor so that was a nice touch.

Amazing supernatural/romantic suspense!
This is the first book in the Epitaph Series, an amazing supernatural romance / romantic suspense! I loved Amy. She is a beautiful character, strong, and caring. Kevin is also a great character, supportive, and protective. I loved to follow them in their suspenseful journey. The supporting characters are great and intriguing. The storyline is suspenseful, and action packed, filled with mystery, intrigue, and twists and turns. Jane Oppenheimer did a great job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, easy to understand. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, The Twins. #AudiobookObsession
