Publisher's summary

It was supposed to be an easy assignment. But behind enemy lines, things never go as planned.

Alexander King and his team were sent to Haiti by the president of the United States as a favor to keep the Haitian president, Samuel Desir, safe in the midst of a volatile political climate. After refusing their services without reason, not only was Desir kidnapped, but King and his team were framed for the job.

On the run in a country without allies, things only become more difficult when they step right in the middle of a drug war to control Haiti as a pipeline for cocaine to America. Worse still is when the kidnapping of President Desir and Columbia’s cartels intersect, weaving a complicated web involving two different countries' wealthiest, most ruthless, and most powerful criminals.

The only way out is for King and company to dive in. But the water is murky, and the treachery so deep, it reaches all the way back to American shores.

King should never have been assigned this job. And now it might be the one that finally kills him.

Thank you Bradley

I am a sucker for this series. Just wish that Lemaster would have done all of the prequel narrations as well. Nothing against Andrew Verner, but he doesn't have the gift for this particular character. Lemaster has done a great job bringing Xander to life with that Kentucky twang, and each story line has been better for it. Xander, Sam and the team is a great collection of brains and action that really gives this story life. I have been hooked since day one, and they keep you wanting more. Thank you for a great series Bradley.

Another Excellent Addition to the Series

I appreciate the author’s ability to weave in new characters. Bradley Wright’s books come alive through the excellent narration of Jarrett LeMaster.

Action-packed, patriotic and awesome

I really like Xander - he is the kind of secret agent you hope is out there protecting America and the cause of freedom. The supporting cast is great as well - a sassy Brit, a beautiful nerdy tech specialist, a long-time friend and some new heroes from recent books. Looking forward to #6!

Fast Paced Thriller

This is a good book that is in time with current events. Zander as character is continuing to evolve. I hope to see how he grows and handles the next mission.

Fabulous story with excellent narration

WOO!
I love Bradley Wright's books and this is certainly no exception. It's a unique storyline with surprises along the way (he always surprises me though, lol). And let's not forget Jarret Lemaster's brilliant narration! He truly brings the story and characters to life and does an incredible job maintaining different voices throughout the entire series. I need more Xander and team in my life!

What happened?

I have all the Alexander King and Xander King series. This is the only one that was boring. It took me weeks to finish. Skip it.

Leaves the audience wondering why, they bought it.

Of any series there a stinkers and this one is it. An easy pass. Everything is lacking in this story. The other four were solid and good.

Not the best effort in all three categories

Boring and disjointed compared to the author’s previous four books. Hope his 6th book is more like those.
