About this listen

After their mother passes, three estranged siblings reunite to sort out her estate. Beth, the oldest, never left home. She stayed with her mom, caring for her until the very end. Nicole, the middle child, has been kept at arm’s length due to her ongoing battle with a serious drug addiction. My favorite hablador
Vargas Llosa is my favorite storyteller. I love this story set in the Amazonian jungle, among the original people, and amid the cultural life of Europe. I love the way Vargas Llosa explores the mask of our identity, the stories that tell us who we are, and the ambiguities that arise when we ask, Does anyone really own these stories, and yet, can any culture survive without them?
