Publisher's summary

"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." Woven well

I love the way this book was broken down. Great quotes and examples by a thoughtful, articulate author who staves off hubris. Essentially it's nice to get helpful examples on life improvement from someone who gets it, but still stumbles. Great stuff. Audio extra w Tim Ferris was a great addition. Well worth the credit.

Excellent

This is a well written and narrated book that every young professional should read. The author uses both historical and modern day examples to reinforce ideas that contradict what is betrayed in the media. I plan to pickup the print copy as well.

Interesting reminder to stay focused and humble

Nice message but way too many quotes. Still worth the read. Narration is nice but not professionally clear

Best business/self-help since Essentialism

This is an incredible book. It is the best business/self-help since Essentialism. Hate the title, love the book. If you want a book on success in the modern world, this is your book. It is to some degree liberal leaning though, but it this still five star being unbalanced.

Essential for Life

One those books to keep coming back to at least once every season. Sobering reminder of how serious ego can get if left out of control. He also goes into how to properly manage your self to live humbly. Humility is one of the keys, if not the key to a life of true success internally.

One of Best In Your Collection!

Seriously one of the best books you will ever read! It’s so many gems in this book it’s hard to focus in on just a few! Bottom line is getting your ego under control will be greater than any level of material accomplishment. Will likely listen to this book again just to take more notes and remind myself in a few years to never forget these concepts
