About this listen

As a forty-three-year-old, newly divorced, single mom, I know two things for certain: starting over sucks, and magic isn’t real. At least that’s what I thought. I mean, starting over really does stink, but when it comes to magic, I have to rethink everything.

I’ve spent the last year since my ex left me going through the motions. Get up. Work. Care for a grumpy teenager. Cook dinner. Go to bed. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Nothing changes … Until it does.

After bidding on a box of old books at an estate auction, I’m experiencing changes.

And I’m not talking about menopause.

My garden gnome Linda has come to life. No, really. Her name is Linda, and she never shuts up. A chonky cat with a few secrets of his own has adopted me. And a gorgeous professor of the occult tells me I’m a witch.

Right now, I’m not sure who’s crazier—me, Linda, or the hottie professor.

If this is my new reality, it’s nature’s cruel midlife trick. I’m learning fast that earth spells might be easy, but they aren’t cheap. All magic exacts a toll, and if I don’t master the elements, the elements will be the death of me.

Literally.

In really enjoyed this first in a new series

Renee George has penned another first in a new series. The storyline is original and the characters are well developed. Autumn Brandt gave a strong performance as she breathed life into the story and gave the characters distinct voices. I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy paranormal fiction fans.

Intriguing story!

The narrator was great; I loved listening to her. The story held my attention and made me want to start the next one right away. I loved that Iris is over forty. The magical characters were both fun and terrifying. The hint of romance between Iris and Keir makes me want to find out how their relationship develops.

Fun!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The German accent was terrible, (sorry, it's pronounced 'leebling'). Outside of that small thing, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Great New Series!!!

Audio Earth Girls Are Easy by Renee George and narrated by Autumn Brandt...
This is such a fun new series and it never ceases to amaze me of the imagination that Renee George has. She has created such a unique 'world' with out of the norm paranormal characters. The dialogue and story is so witty and clever! And warning, everyone is going to want their own Bob. Autumn's narration bring it all to life!!

Loved the middle aged newbie!

I thought this was a refreshing new approach to the genre with unique characters. I laughed out loud and commiserated with the protagonist! Can’t wait for the second one!

Lord of the Rings vibe

I like this story. Seems a bit more modern/real than the crazy fantasy style stories. Good build up but some heavy family stuff too.

Slow

I did not finish this book, it was extremely slow, main character was not believable, plot line was slow as well and predictable. Narration was flat, no inflections.
