Winston Churchill, Andy Warhol, Tom Cruise, Agatha Christie, and Pablo Picasso were all famous and successful in their chosen professions. And they were all dyslexic. But what is dyslexia? Are there different types of dyslexia? Is there a cure? This guide answers these and other questions, providing a concise explanation of the causes and symptoms of dyslexia, a learning disorder that inhibits the reading and writing ability of millions of children and adults worldwide.

With its engaging and accessible writing style, this audiobook is an indispensable resource for parents of children with dyslexia, for young people and adults with dyslexia, and for teachers and special educational needs coordinators everywhere.

Editorial reviews

Narrator Martin Blum's steady, even-tempered performance gives listeners ample time to understand the terms and explanations in this informative and accessible introduction to dyslexia. Dr. Nicola Brunswick, a trustee of the British Dyslexia Association, conducts research in the areas of reading and developmental dyslexia, and she has distilled her work into a useful resource for listeners interested in discovering more about this learning disorder. Dr. Brunswick provides psychological facts about dyslexia which even professionals may find surprising. Blum gives appropriate emphasis to the reassuring tone of this resource - listeners will find comfort and hope from Dr. Brunswick's suggestions on managing this disorder.

An advertisement for phonics

This book discusses nothing but the reading difficulties of those who are dyslexic, and then goes into phonics and how it can teach dyslexics how to read. I feel like paid for a big long advertisement! (It shouldn't be on audio books)
