Unraveling a weird plot

There is a lot of very close observations and analysis involved for the hero to ultimately unravel a rather insidious and diabolical plot in the horse racing world, a plot to disable by sickness Perative horses. Frances keeps finding ingenious corners of the horse racing culture in England as his setting, and this story is layered with the language of computer attack as well. It's filled with intrigue and it's filled with the usual acute observation of human behavior and motives that is so great in Francis. Preble is one of the best, the very best, readers of books in the world, I think And his performance here is up to his usual stellar standard.

I love it - great mystery and outstanding reader

Totally kept my attention. The protagonist was a good person. I truly enjoy reading books that feature people I’d like to emulate.

Wonderful

I love Dick Francis he was an awesome author and this book is an example of it. He brings his characters to life, Freddie, Nina, and all the others are bursting with energy,

Simon Prebble is one of the best narrators and really adds to the story, making each character unique.

Dick Francis at his best

Although his computer descriptions make the book anachronistic, his plot and character development are excellent. A very talented narrator makes this well worth listening.

good, but not great

I enjoyed Sick Francis' Break In and Bolt stories much more than this one. But Driving Force was good enough for me to give Francis another try.

Mystery with humanity

Sir Dick Francis writes mysteries with insight into the human heart. His main characters are resilient, well developed, likeable, and reflective. I also enjoy the British variations of common words. Simon Preble brings the story to life with his shifts in voices for the characters, excellent pronunciation, and feeling for the story! Well done all!

Another GREAT ONE from Dick Francis!!

I’ve always enjoyed Dick Francis novels, knowing there’s going to be intrigue, fabulous twists in the storyline and always a satisfying resolution. His characters are well drawn, some thoroughly likable and some thoroughly horrible as you need in every great story.
