Publisher's summary
The monarch wants him dead. A dragon’s torching the realm. Is his heroic gig about to be a critical catastrophe?
Gorm Ingerson knows the king is a fink. With the land’s insidious ruler hell-bent on his destruction, the axe-wielding Dwarf berserker is desperate to beat him to the punch. But when he discovers the rotten regent’s claim of a town razed by the world’s richest dragon is false, the gruff adventurer fears there’s more than a personal grudge at stake.
Struggling to convince his old comrades that they need to help him solve the mystery, the dwarven idealist stumbles into a sinister smuggling ring. And with strange creatures, cunning assassins, and vindictive bankers all plotting his demise, Gorm worries this time the price of doing the right thing will be fatally high.
Can he make a saving throw against death with a high-stakes roll at disadvantage?
Dragonfired is the thrilling third book in the Dark Profit Saga satirical fantasy trilogy. If you like witty banter, RPG references, and clever sendups of popular tropes, then you’ll love J. Zachary Pike’s laugh-out-loud conclusion.

Story
The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers (or NPCs) to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

Mr. Goldson is filthy rich. He’s also callous and cruel and hasn’t got a festive bone in his ancient body. Naturally, he’s due for a holiday haunting. When his business partner, Bolbi Baggs, announces that they’re to be visited by three spirits, Mr. Goldson braces himself for a whirlwind tour of his past, present, and future. Mr. Goldson, however, isn’t human. He’s a Dwarf, and Mr. Baggs is a Halfling, and the adventure that’s about to take them across the enchanted world of Arth is anything but typical.

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Pete is a simple man who enjoys a good drink amongst good friends. Not too much to ask, right? Now, he's trapped in a fantasy world far from home, stuck underground and inside the body of a smelly dwarf with fantastic facial hair. The worst part? The swill that the dwarves are falling all over themselves to drink. It's flat, it's watery, and it has the alcohol content of a rancid coconut. Can Pete save the dwarves from their own sour fate, or will he be forever doomed to plink his pickaxe away in hopes that he hits the motherlode?

This fourth wall-breaking, three-book collection showcases Jackson's adventures through fantasy realms, comic book universes, and classic space opera settings. Each fast-paced novel allows Jackson to flex his powers, skills, and wits as he exploits the rules, points out the respective genre's flaws, and undermines godly authority to win the day. All the while laughing at the expense of our beloved tropes. Because that is what villains should do, shouldn’t they?

Following the guidance of a mysterious blue prompt, Sylas journeys to the town of Ember Hollow to breathe new life into a quaint local pub. Along the way, he meets a clever apothecary named Mira, who helps him acclimate to the ins and outs of the realm, and Patches, a corpulent cat who’s slightly . . . shall we say, unusual. Dubbing the pub “The Old Lamplighter,” Sylas hopes it will be a safe haven for other weary souls. Tomorrow, the funk descends on Manhattan, a noxious cloud that separates the island from the rest of the world and mutates the population. Some generations on, the surviving population exists amid the rubble of modernity, wearing our cast-off clothing, worshipping celebrities as dim gods, and using emojis in place of written language. The Island exists in a state of uneasy peace, with each neighborhood an independent fiefdom, protecting itself with scrap metal spears and Molotov cocktails.

A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Retired from a decade of brutal war, he wants nothing more than a quiet pastoral life while he does his best to stem the steady increase of his Doom Points before they hit 100, signaling the start of the end. He’s been given a small farm on the outskirts of the empire as thanks for his service, but no matter how far he travels, it's impossible to escape the war's devastating effects on the world.

When an ambitious teenage girl from Earth finds herself in a magical realm, she could be the hero—but she'd prefer to be the villain. When power-hungry Everly is reborn into a medieval world where elemental magic rules and she receives her elemental servants—the oddly sadistic Eris and the fun-loving Titania—years earlier than one typically would, she knows she's destined for a command of necromantic magic the likes of which her peers can only dream.

Excellent end to an excellent trilogy
This was a satisfying conclusion to an excellent story full of varied characters and complex, yet grounded conflicts interspersed amid all the big world changing ones. The narrator did a great job keeping distinct voices for all the many different characters.

Deep characters, Excellent plot twists
I have been waiting for this book for so long and I’m not disappointed. I love how the story, characters, and morals are for people of all ages. They have the simplicity and depth that a child can understand, but that even a well seasoned adult can relate to. This book is not preachy, if it was, I wouldn’t have finished book one. I wouldn’t hesitate to gift this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy. I already know that I am going to come back to this series again and again. I ran a dnd campaign based off of this setting because of how much it inspired me.
The comedy of the office, mixed with the adventure of high fantasy. A genuinely amazing story from a brilliant author.

A great ending to a amazing journey
Honestly this was so well worth the wait, ever since I picked up orcanomics I knew I would love this story immensely from start to finish and J.Z.P did not disappoint at all. I love how the story changes your perspective on certain things and makes you feel for certain characters and all the twist. Something I wasn’t prepared for and some completely blew me away. After listening to all three books I would gladly recommend this series to anyone.

Fantasy made as interesting as it should be
In this modern day, we are all assaulted by rote narratives via text, video, and performance that rot our brain. For this reason, I try to find books that I'd want my children to one day read so that they might learn something. This book comfortably fits that role, saving a generation from necrotic media and making you laugh from start to end.

More Funny Fantasy
This book isn’t as funny as the previous 2, and honestly the first is the funniest by far. It still has plenty of funny lines, but is less comedic throughout. It’s a good book, a good end to a good series, and I liked it, but I wish the whole series kept the same amount of comedic tone, pacing, and character development as the first installment. It feels like the plot improved at the cost of the series’ original strengths shining less. I think the first book read like Discworld meets Dungeons & Dragons, but this book felt more like just Dungeons & Dragons with occasional jokes. It’s good, just not exactly what I hoped for going into it.
