Your credit rating influences your capacity to buy a home, land a decent financing cost on advances, and even find a new line of work. It speaks to the danger of non-installment that you present to a moneylender.

Instead, imagine a life where you have peace of mind, because your financial affairs are in order, and you’re on the right path to building wealth.

Have you ever been overwhelmed with the desire to possess something the first time you laid eyes on it? Money should never control you; it should be the other way around. If you control your money, you won’t be living the kind of life reminiscent of a millionaire, but you save yourself from stress, worry, and debt. Financial control means that before you even touch your money, you know where it’s supposed to go, how you’re supposed to spend it, and when you’ll spend it. This is where budget comes in.

Be warned, though, when your income starts to grow, it is easy to fall into temptation and start spending more than you are earning again. Refrain and continue saving and investing your money. Every small step counts. Every coin kept and invested counts. Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

As usual, Laura has taken a massive amount of complex information and parsed it into an easy to understand, step by step process. This book is not only a must for anyone who would like to get out of debt, but it's even for those who are financially stable but would like to improve their financial situation. And it's not just about the financial steps that need to be taken. It also includes the mindset changes and microhabits we need to further stabilize the foundation of our financial futures. Straight forward plan -> follow it
Laura Adams has been giving great financial advice for a long time. Here she lays out a straight forward plan to get out of debt. It is also not a one size fits all because the first rule of personal finance is that it is personal. She shows the multiple routes to the finish line. Anyone looking to get out of debt should read this book.

Comprehensive Yet Easy to Digest
If you like the Money Girl podcasts, you'll enjoy this book. It sounds like a compilation of her podcasts, all of them covering various forms of debt and how to deal with it. It is thorough - so much so that a lot of it doesn't apply to me now, such as when she discusses mortgages. I will have to listen again in the future when I encounter those debt situations. She speaks clearly without the use of jargon. When she does occasionally throw jargon around, she explains it in a way that doesn't make you feel stupid. All in all, I recommend this audio book (at least at 1.25x speed) to anyone who has any form of debt. You might find yourself learning a little or a lot but learning nevertheless.
