Death by Chocolate

An interesting start to a new series. I’m a fan of Greek mythology and I was intrigued by the way the main character, Kate, was drawn into this world. There were enough unanswered questions for me to want to continue on to the next book in the series.

I did find this to be a very enjoyable listen. Kate Tyler did a fantastic job with the narration!

Very short but lots of fun!

This was a very fun listen. This was recommended to me. At first the narration bothered me, but only because it sounded like she was talking from a box and distorted everything. Otherwise Kate Tyler did a fantastic job narrating this story. This is my first story by Suz Korb.
Its an excellent storyline. I wish the story was longer to give the author more real credit. As it is now it is rather confusing to keep up with it because there is so much crammed into such a short amount of time. I LOVE the idea behind this. It was very unique in a good way. I just wish that it wasn't so short. Other than that I really enjoyed the story line and the Greek spin on everything. Very enjoyable.

YA Fantasy

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is a story about a 17-year-old girl who looks in the mirror and sees three heads on her shoulder. The tale goes on from there. One head looks like Santa Claus and the other looks like a pretty woman. The boy she has been crushing on for two years suddenly becomes a god and they are swept away to a strange land where she learns that the two heads on her shoulder are his mom and dad. Well, it is a fantasy tale. The narration was good and moved the story along but it was hard to believe in some spots. Oh yeah, she and her best friend buy a store-bought cake and lots of canned icing and make this cake for the fundraiser which suddenly kills everyone or so you are lead to believe. The ending was pretty good though and was not really a cliffhanger but you know there will be more books.

i had some issues with it

first of all the performance was good the narrator did a very good work with the story .
and I will not say the story was bad it wasn't .. it actually was very interesting but I had a big issue with it I didn't get the why of the story ..
and thought the story is short I think in this case I would like to understand more.

Unique fantasy

Death by Chocolate
Story I from the Divine Collection by Author Suz Korb, Volume 1
By: Suz Korb
Narrated by: Kate Tyler
This is an audible short story I requested and the review is voluntary.
I really liked this different supernatural short. It is otherworldly, mysterious, and different and I like different. I like something fresh in the fantasy world. It is an exciting, sometimes heart pounding thriller, and other times, just curious, but never dull story that would be great if it was expanded into a full story.
The narrator was good but I think I would have chosen someone else. She would be ok for another story.

A Delightful Tale

This is a delightful story to listen to. It's a YA supernatural story that is quite entertaining. Kate is a typical seventeen year old thrown into a really strange situation. It was fun listening to her reactions to the various situations she found herself in. The narrator, Kate Tyler, did an awesome job bringing this story to life. Her voices were great and she read at a very nice pace. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Demi-Chocolate in Limbo Land

Do you remember your most bizarre dreams? Your most horrendous nightmares? Those vivid mental meanderings when you’re half-awake and half-asleep?

I do. Just the other day, I tried to recount my most recent dream to a friend. While I was worried about her judging my freakish subconscious. She, on the other hand, was more obsessed about the fact I could remember most of the content.

Huh?

Suz Korb’s dreams surely match my own for creepiness if her novella, ‘Death By Chocolate’ is any indication. I would love to try to explain the story, and the synopsis does a pretty good job, but words fail me. I feel like if I try to summarize this story, I might ruin it for you. I have to say, I did love the romantic distractions. Who wouldn’t want two gods vying for your attention?

So who would enjoy this listen?

An adventurous reader who wants something unusual. A person who loves following trains of consciousness that repeatedly jump the rails. And, finally, people who want to escape our current reality into a world where bizarre is expected.

Kate Tyler was a good choice of narrator. She has great voices for the high school seniors, but also handles Zeus like a pro. My only peeve is that the book is written in first person, present tense point-of-view. However, given the nature of the story, that does work.

This story was bizarre and oddly quirky.

Enjoy!

Good listen:)

I really liked this but I do wish it was longer. More details were needed to really get into the story.
The narrator was very good. I love a good narrator!

This is an unbiased review with a credit from the narrator

A short enjoyable treat.

While the story is too short to have a well developed plot it will probably reach its full potential if it is expanded in future Books.

The Narrator does a wonderful job with the material and made the Book a much easier listen.

Most individuals who enjoy this genre will appreciate this Book and the future efforts of this Author.

Great quick read

Death by Chocolate by Suz Korb was a good quick read. This is the first book in the Divine Collection. At the Death by Chocolate event Kate didn't mean to actually poison everyone. Kate finds herself traveling into the afterlife. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by Suz Korb.
