good one!

McGarrity, Connelly, and Sandford are my favorite mystery writers. McGarrity has stopped writing mysteries, I think this was his last. The bad guy is especially bad in this one, but it is an excellent story.

Always wonderful to roam around New Mexico,.

I love all of Michael's books. I have driven these roads so many times. The description of the land, building s and culture is spot on..

Couldn’t stop listening

Best story in ages. If I could give it ten stars I would. Both of the main characters are Oscar worthy.

Nicely Balanced

McGarrity is not good at big plots. His writing is stilted and unbelievably. But put in the west, among horses and he draws the characters so well you can smell them. This story may be too violent for some but that was needed to created the horrible antagonist. Despite the fact his characters act rationally, he creates tension. He never resorts to having the protagonist “run the middle of a street while being chased by cars.” And the ending was very nice.

The best Kearney book yet

Would highly recommend this book. All of the Kearney series is excellent but this one is exceptional.
George does his usual great job and makes the story even better.

Killing Spree

There was a lot of gratuitous violence in this book in the series. Not for the feint of heart nor even most of us who abhor needless ending of life. It wasn’t the best in McGarrity’s series.

DEAD OR ALIVE

This series is one of the best ever and I have read about half a dozen and liked them enough to listen to all in the series. Very realistic.

Grisly over & over. Repellant but well written

It creates a very hate-worthy criminal character that justifies the outcome. I’ve read many of the Kevin Kearney series books & the prior family frontier history saga. Loved or liked the others all of them until this one.

This one is well written too, but got to be too disgusting over & over for my tastes.

Solid, but…

Another entry in the series that’s half “inside the mind of a deranged killer,” and those just really are NOT for me. Forewarned is forearmed.
