About this listen

The journey begins....

Plunged into darkness, the Earth's surface is shrouded in dust from the impact of asteroid AG5.

Whilst the cloud threatens to choke the very fabric of civilization, Sarah Morgan is being held prisoner. In the depths of a subterranean facility, she has uncovered a deadly weapon; the truth behind the enormous structure buried beneath the Earth.

Elsewhere, Professor Steiner and Robert Goodwin may be humanity's greatest hope, but they must struggle against monumental adversity as an internal battle rages within the Global Meteor Response Council.

Running out of luck, choices and time, all must fight to reclaim their chosen paths or watch those around them wither and die.

This series presents a world that is completely original, unlike any I've read before. I love the descriptions and the detail.

The best narrators use different voices to differentiate among the characters. This reader did, but only to a limited extent. I often found myself wondering who had just spoken.

Ponderous

Slow moving and tedious. Made it to the end but not sure it’ll be worth continuing with the series. Characters are one dimensional, their motives questionable, and the plot isn’t particularly engaging probably because it takes so long to move along. Great premise, though. That’s what makes it difficult to abandon.

Horrible waste of time

I gave up. Can’t take it any more. Absurd plot, unrelated characters who are selfish, venal and just plain stupid. I tried to stick with it, hoping it would get better or at least I would get inured to the poor quality of this story. But I have given up before finishing.

Too much drama, not enough of a story

This book is the second book in the series, and I think it's even worse than the first one. The story really drags on, and there is much more drama than anything else. Again, the alpha female theme permeates this book, and the plot line is really quite shallow. There is no real underlying mystery that made me want to keep listening. The narrator, again, was decent, but really lacks the ability to differentiate between character's voices, and so the book never really came alive for me.
