Publisher's summary

When Princess Penelope comes home for her kingdom’s summer festival, she is stunned by her father’s ultimatum: choose a suitor by the end of the holidays, or forfeit her place at the Academy of Mages. The only problem is, none of them are the man she wants: the Dragon-Wizard Salarath. Somehow, Penelope must dodge her would-be suitors and convince Salarath that their love is something worth fighting for. But as she begins to uncover the secrets someone in the palace is hiding, she may find that she’s courting danger rather than Courting the Dragon.

Courting the Dragon

There’s a conspiracy to usurp the thrown, but when magic is involved it’s hard to know who you can trust. Penelope is being forced to accept an arranged marriage, but just maybe there’s a way out…

I’m really enjoying this series by Sara R. Cleveland. The magical aspects really add to the story.

Benjamin Fife’s narration is extremely entertaining. He does a great job with giving the characters their own voices.

Love isn't easy, but the story is excellent

This story is a sequel, and I went into it without reading the first. While it's clear there are history and prior relationships, readers are given enough context to understand what's what and who is who.

Penelope and Salarath's story is full of complications, political intrigue, love, action, bad decisions, conspiracy, magic, and a few terrifying moments. The story comes from multiple POVs, and the cast of supporting characters are well developed and entertaining. The bad guys are truly reprehensible, and I loved to hate them.

I've listened to a few books narrated by Benjamin Fife, and he gave another brilliant performance in this story. He brings the characters and story right off the pages.

DRAGON LOVE AND POLITICAL INTRIGUE

DRAGON LOVE AND POLITICAL INTRIGUE keeps this book interesting. Witchcraft and lots of clever magical item's has this students visit home turn into quite the drama with her father putting her on the open market and her already in love. With good and bad wizards, friends with their own agendas and family problems this story was non stop entertaining. The narrator does a great job of the voices. Recommended.

Cute!

I enjoyed this book! I hadn’t read the first book but I still felt like enough was explained for me to understand. I may go ahead and pick up the first book now because I definitely will be waiting for the third! The narrator was easy to listen to, but I felt like he talks a little slow, but he was easy to follow and understand so I didn’t mind!

Excellent Fantasy Story

I enjoyed the second book in the "Penelope's Dragon" series even more than the first book. There were some surprising twists and turns. I appreciated the interpersonal relationships between the allies in this story. I liked the magic and flashes of humor that were found within the tale. Benjamin Fife's narration was exceptional. He was an amazing narrator as he was entertaining, and he provided various voices for the different characters. Kudos to the author for her newest choice in narrators. YA Dragon Romance w/ Royal Politics

I didn't read the first book to this series and yet I really wasn't lost. The author does a great job giving enough details that I do think this one can easily stand alone but I am sure it's better in order. The world building and character development is well done. I really enjoyed the political drama on top of the character romances and then add in the villains, which are perfectly evil.

Parents- PG13- more young adult +15 and up
Language: moderate bad language and there are 1 or 2 f-bombs
Violence: normal to genre - possible trigger scenes to abuse and rape victims
Sexual Content- There's a fairly detailed and violent attempted rape scene, there's a beginning bedroom scene but the door closes pretty quickly

The narrator was fantastic! He's one of my family's favorite narrators and really has ruined us to the less experienced ones. He simply does a wonderful job with the voices, differentiations and his acting skills were top notch. The only thing I did notice was a few spots throughout chapters 4-7 where a few words were repeated and not edited out... it'd be worth quick re-edit to smooth those spots out.

Loved this

Fantastic story and I didn't want to put it down once I started it. A story full of magic, deceipt, courage and greed. Penelope returns home for a festival. She is shocked when she sees her father and she knows something is wrong. Then he gives her an ultimatum, choose a husband by the end of the holiday or she won't be returning to the Academy of mages. She is horrified because she is already in love with Salarath a dragon wizard but the king is against this union. Penelope is horrified after she is attacked in a palace hallway. She is saved when her father passes by but she can't believe his reaction. He is going to force her to marry her attacker. Nobody understands the kings strange behavior. Penelope will have to endure a great deal of heartache to find out what ails her father & avoid marrying a monster. A great read.

Loved by a Dragon

Benjamin Fife did an amazing job with the narration of this story!, The story flows well and is filled with great adventure!
I cannot wait to listen to the final in the series! Maybe Benjamin Fife can do the narration for that one as well?
