About this listen

Captain Jackson Wolfe never thought he'd see the end of the Phage War in his lifetime. The enemy was too powerful, too numerous, and utterly determined to exterminate humanity.

But the appearance of a new ally in the fight has changed all of that. For the first time since the original incursion, Wolfe thinks that maybe there's a chance to stop their implacable enemy before they have the chance to wipe out any more human planets. That opportunity comes at great cost, however, and even as he makes plans for their first offensive move on the Phage, Jackson is all too aware that most of them will not survive.

I listen to a ton of books (I have an hour and a half commute), and I have some narrators that I love and others that I can't stand. This narrator is cream of the crop. His diction is so precise, and he does great voices. Along with George Guidal and Stephan Rudnicki, he is one of my favorites.

The book was a very thrilling ride. The trilogy could have gone without much of the second book, and could have been better as a two-parter. If you weren't entirely happy with the second, the third is worth reading.

Narrator must be commended

I first listened to the next series in the history of this world, and it constantly referenced this trilogy so created a pent-up demand in me to understand the genesis of all that. Character development behavior is superb. The narrative stayed right on mission, never going off into stupid attempts at humor or any but the briefest references to romance. It's a lot of the same characters in both trilogies and one comes to like these well-drawn people. Also just the right amount of exposition. I especially liked The Jackson Wolfe, The male lead, was not an idiot that the author could exploit for the "okay enough of the details" faux charm. I like them very well educated.

flawless. struck the right note time after time

A nice finish to the saga. Not as exciting as book 1 but still good.

It was still a great book even though the friendly and enemy ships abilities changed significantly.

Still Great

I really liked the first 2 books, but it looks like Joshua ran out of imagination on this one. I feel like there could have been a lot more done with the material. I am satisdied with the conclusion, though. Strong performance from Mark, as usual.

A good conclusion to the series.

Having read and listened to quite a few sci-fi books and stories, This series is among my absolute Favorites. It's so well thought out that I honestly think it's A good candidate for a Movie Series. I'd gladly go see it in the theater if it were to be chosen for production!

Brilliant Series
