Great, enjoyable guide to easy budget cooking

I've been trying to make my own meals, both for health and budgetary reasons. Being able to prepare my own food has saved me a ton of money and, frankly, added a great deal of nutrition to my diet.

This is a great collection of tips and guidance to becoming a savvy home chef. I really enjoyed listening to it during my commute, and its guidance has been excellent. Great book.

A short primer on Cooking at a low cost

In this Short Audio Book anyone new to Cooking can pick up some important tips
on preparing their own meals.

Because it is short it is more likely that it will be listened to and some lessons will be
learned. If it was in more detail the people who would gain the most would probably not listened to it.

I am all about saving money

First I love the PDF file that comes with book. Its very nice to have notes in front of you, that you can put into action.
The ideas in this book are pretty simple and easy to follow, and if followed there is no way you will not save money. well worth the price of the book.

The narrator did a fine job reading this book.

For Frugal Living Enthusiasts

Cooking on a budget is a brief overview of how to pinch a few pennies while eating semi-healthy. I'm not a meat-eater, so some of the suggestions weren't necessarily applicable. But, if you're looking for a few new ideas or rehash some old ones, then this audiobook is for you. I like the list of seasonal produce and how there's a downloadable PDF that comes with the audiobook. I can whip out the list on my phone when I head to the grocery store next time and look for some of these items.

The narrator did an excellent job. She was clear, articulate, and had a certain vibrancy and positive charm to her.

Common Sense Guide to Healthy Eating on a Budget

This short listen is a nice guide to healthy eating without breaking the bank. This book provides tips on what foods to buy, when to buy them and even alternate places to shop. The author even went as far as to break down what fruits and vegetables are in season by the month.

All in all, I enjoyed the book. I was given this free review copy at my request in exchange for an unbiased review.

Lots of good suggestions.

I have been trying to eat healthy without spending a ton on groceries for years. Many of these suggestions I have learned through my struggle and I continue to use every day. There were also a lot of new things for me to try and look into. Whether your trying to make your family grocery budget stretch, or meal prep healthy foods for the week, this book summarizes every tip I can think of that could help you. There is also a detailed section on when to buy produce in season.
Read clearly and precise by the narrator.

Good overview, lots of lists

Cooking on a Budget is a fairly simple book, but that doesn't mean the information isn't useful.

It goes through simple times on how to cut costs (don't shop when hungry, stick to a list, if you can't tell the difference then buy unbranded etc.). All very useful, if simple.

The book contains a lot of lists (such as which fruit and veg are in season in which month) but it does come with a PDF with all this information, which makes it easy. You don't have to memorise the list.

Note that there may be some translation needed in some places, due to different names for things. for example Rutabagas are mentioned several times. But in the UK, Australia and other places (likely all commonwealth nations) they are called Swedes, not Rutabagas.

Narration by Aida-Maria Boiesan is good. Despite the large amount of lists you never feel lost or overwhelmed. She is well paced and easy to follow.
