Learning to Put Yourself First & Not Feel Guilty
You ever catch yourself saying yes to something you really don’t want to do? Or feel like your happiness depends on keeping everyone else happy? Yeah, Codependency Recovery Workbook gets it. This book isn’t just about “stop people-pleasing” advice—it actually walks you through why we do it and how to start undoing those habits.
What I liked? It’s practical. There are actual exercises that make you stop and think, Wait, what do I even want? It’s like a reset button for your boundaries and self-worth, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense.
If I could change one thing, I’d love more real-life examples. The concepts are solid, but seeing how someone else worked through this would make it hit even harder. Also, as this was a workbook narrated, I think the content got a little choppy in places. Still a very useful workbook.
Bottom line? If you feel stuck in the cycle of always putting others first and never getting your own needs met, read this. It won’t magically fix everything overnight, but it’ll help you start taking your power back.

This Struck a Cord With Me
I have certainly felt stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, so this was a breath of fresh air. I'm starting to understand why I've been struggling and how to stick up for myself. People pleasing is not a good habit. You have to be happy with yourself if you're going to be happy with anyone else! This book walks you through how to break bad habits and build your confidence. Having a relationship based on respect? Totally doable now. Make yourself the priority, not the relationship. I recognized myself in this book and it helped me figure out how to be healthier in my next relationship!
