Masterful writing and deep storytelling
Vivid scenes brought the characters to life. The well-researched details provide the foundation for plausible motivations and unspoken experiences of Clytemnestra, often portrayed as a villain or monster. Here, we gain understanding and empathy for her and get immersed in the ancient worlds of Sparta (portrayed as a matrilineal monarchy) and Mycenae, a kingdom cursed for generations with extreme familial violence. It will be especially riveting for readers/listeners familiar with Greek mythology and Aeschylus’s plays of The Oresteia and Homer’s The Iliad and The Odyssey. Though the voice recording of the audiobook was virtual, the intonation was believable and you could forget you weren’t hearing a voice actor. I hope someday this book could be produced as a physical book. It’s worthy of a beautiful cover and professional book design. Truly unusually good and stands out as a self-published work.
